⛏️ STAFF PICK OF THE WEEK ⛏️
Slight summery vibe this week, hoping that it encourages some sunshine but mostly failed so far.
🏴🇯🇵𝐔̀𝐫𝐚𝐫 𝐆𝐢𝐧 うらジン, 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 New gin from a small eco-friendly, purpose built distillery just outside Aviemore. Husband and wife operation with one from Scotland and the other from Japan. Just like the Gin. It has local Cairngorm Juniper Berries alongside Japanese Yuzu Fruit and a citrus fruit indigenous to Nagasaki Prefecture called Yuko fruit. All this combined makes for a beautifully rounded gin with a real freshness and purity.
⚽️🌹 The Vice Easily the best Rose I’ve ever had and the bottle is amazingly decorated, sadly our shipment was delayed from the US so this World Cup Rose arrived after the World Cup had finished but who cares when it tastes so good. Like drinking the purest Pink Grapefruit Juice. Whispering Angel on steroids.
🇿🇦🇮🇹 Iona W**es Vineyards and Tasting Room One of our favourite producers, who we’ve dealt with from their beginning over 25 years ago. Another top w**e, this is their take on Barolo. A Nebbiolo from Elgin, South Africa. This is so fresh, tart and crunchy. If this were from Italy it would cost 10 times the price.
🌈🍺 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐆𝐨𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 Dark and rich stout at 6.66% ABV. Pours thick like engine oil with notes of roasted coffee and cocoa with a slight hoppy kick from the Chinook and Citra hops used.
