Sma’ Shot Day will take place in Paisley on Saturday 5 July.
The celebrations begin with the Sma’ Shot parade at 12 noon. Led by the Charleston Drum, the parade will set off from Brodie Park and make its way through the town centre to Abbey Close and Bridge Street.
After the parade, you can enjoy:
• the traditional Burning of the Cork
• live entertainment and performances on the main stage
• a host of free family activities
• the Poetry Slam at Paisley Arts Centre
• live music at The Keg on Gilmour Street
• tours at Sma’ Shot Cottages
• children’s workshops and an Artisan Market at Restoration & Creation on Brown’s Lane
• tea dance in Methodist Central Hall (tickets available from Paisley Library)
Town centre parking is free for the first hour in council car parks and on-street bays. You must take a ticket no matter how long you're parking for, even if under an hour.
The following roads will be closed from 8am on Friday 4 July until 9pm of Saturday 5 July for the event:
• Bridge Street/Cotton Street from Bridge Street car park to the Renfrewshire House car park entrance
• Bridge Street car park
• Abbey Close from Cotton Street to Gauze Street
• Brown’s Lane
The following roads will also be closed from 11.30am until 2pm on Sma’ Shot Day to allow the parade to pass, with waiting and loading restrictions also in place on these routes from 00.01am to 2pm:
• Braids Road from Falside Road to Neilston Road
• Neilston Road from Lochfield Road to Causeyside Street
• Causeyside Street from Neilston Road to St Mirren Street
• St Mirren Street from Causeyside Street to High Street
• High Street from St Mirren Street to Gauze Street
• Gauze Street from High Street to Lawn Street
• Cotton Street from Gauze Street to Bridge Street
• Smithhills Street from Gauze Street to Weir Street
