It is with sadness that I am writing the final post on this, my business page. As many of you will know I suffered a stroke earlier this year and, while progress has been made, my health does not permit me to run the business as well as I would wish.
I am extremely grateful to both Paul and Marc for keeping things going so well while I was unable to be there.
However, it seemed wise to accept an approach to buy the business, and, accordingly, Sinclair Barr Newsagents ceased trading on 30th November.
It has been an amazing 34 years, thanks to the many loyal customers and thousands of paper boys and girls who have been with me during the journey. I am so grateful to you all.
I have been blessed with hard working, loyal staff throughout those years. From the early days with Wilma and Nan, through Anne, Alison, Paul, Danny and Michael I have been well supported, for which I am extremely grateful.
In addition I want to acknowledge how overwhelmed I have been by the response generated by the news that Paul and I are closing the business. The personal good wishes, cards and gifts have been deeply appreciated, as have the gifts to charities in our name.
It has been a privilege to serve all our customers and the local community for so long. Thank you.
