Join us in our tasting room where you will enjoy a welcome drink to sip while your host Carole introduces you to The Gin Bothy.
Learn more about the bothy culture and traditions that inspired them to craft their hand batched spirits. And how their jam making roots helped them develop delicious fruit infused gins at their home in the Angus Glens of Scotland.
Carole will lead you through a tasting of gins and gin liqueurs, experiencing each one neat before adding mixers for classic serves and longer drinks.

Fully matured in a fresh ex-bourbon barrel, this expression showcases pronounced influence from sweet, vanillin-rich American oak. The cask imparts layers of sweetness and toasted nuttiness that complement and enhance the distillate’s underlying cereal-driven character.

In today’s whisky landscape, the spotlight often falls on the extremes - intensely peated malts, heavily sherried drams, and bold, unconventional cask finishes. While these styles offer vivid and memorable experiences, they can at times overshadow the quieter artistry of balance and subtlety in whisky-making.
For this collection, we bring together five casks that invite a moment of reflection - to appreciate the quiet beauty of well-judged maturation and the complexity that emerges when bold and delicate flavours are held in equilibrium.

We recently visited the shop at Kirkoswald. The staff member was very welcoming and informative. The store has a very wide and interesting selection of whiskies and other alcoholic drinks ( we were there for the whisky). The store is very tastefully decorated and arranged. Good prices and free tasters. What's not to like. Well worth a visit.

Take a seat in our tasting room and let your host Max take you through a tasting of 5 single cask whiskies. He will explain the reasons why we selected each cask for this collection, what makes each of these individual casks special and the journey we have taken them on over their years of maturation.
Highlights include a Ben Nevis 12 Year Old Bourbon Hogshead, Knockdhu 15 Year Old finished in a Moscatel Barrique and a Glendullan 14 Year Old finished in a 1St Fill Oloroso Sherry Hogshead.

Cask Room
As single cask whiskies are at the heart of what we do, you will find two casks “on tap” in our Cask Room. Take in the atmosphere of a traditional whisky warehouse and taste whisky straight from the cask. Have a bottle filled from the cask and sealed in wax, add your hand-written label to complete your personalised whisky.
Tasting Room
Escape into the world of A. D. Rattray when you book one of our Tasting Experiences. Relax in our tasting room as you nose and taste single cask and single malt whiskies. Your host is there to guide you whether you’re already a whisky-lover or enjoying your first dram. Alternatively, learn about Scotland’s other popular craft spirit with a Scottish gin tasting experience.
