Lyng Stores introduces Tea Room

Lyng Stores has been Lyng’s village shop for over 30 years.

When Georgie and sister-in-law Jenna learned Lyng Stores was closing, after providing a vital service to locals for more than 20 years, they decided to take action. Stuart and Helen Butcher had run the business for 12 years, but in late 2017 decided to move onto pastures new, and in February 2018 they closed Lyng Stores.

With the support of family and friends Georgie & Jenna started renovations in March 2018. The budding business women were determined to make the revamped Lyng Stores the hub of their community. They introduced a small Tea Room that gives locals, and anyone passing by a place to stop, chat and relax.

As well as everyday groceries and essentials, there are daily newspapers, magazines, to***co, alcohol, National Lottery, pet sundries, and services like dry cleaning, PayPoint and cashback are all available. There is also a great selection of local and fresh produce on sale, and even a free delivery service to locals that struggle to get out of their homes.
