Would you like to try a selection of the wines we offer? We have organised a tasting event where we will be showcasing about 35 wines, half of which are new to us including many award winners.
Expert advice will be on hand from our suppliers too.

Limited tickets are available for purchase in our shop on the square. For just £15 it’s a great opportunity to taste wines you may not have considered before, get yours before they are gone.

Wishing all our customers, past, present, and future, a very happy Christmas.

We are open today, Christmas Eve, from 9.00am till 2.00pm for that last minute special wine. We will be open again on the 27th.

A few weeks ago The Guardian newspaper published an article about “Extreme Wines”. They featured six different wines chosen for their sweetness or tannins etc. We have in the shop one of the wines listed and varieties of a couple more such as Pedro Ximénez and Old Vine Zinfandel.

As to the wine we have, it is a full bodied red from Madiran and the author has the following to say,
“Domaine Berthoumieu, Cuvée Charles de Batz
Madiran, France 2017
Few wines have quite the intense, bear-grip of tannin you find in the dense, dark tannat-based red wines of Madiran in south-west France. Here that is matched with mountain freshness, savoury meatiness and dark currant fruit in a wine that’s ideal for a fatty cassoulet.”

Certainly one to try, I thoroughly enjoyed my sample.
