Codega do larino is a floral and fragrant variety, although it struggles to retain acidity and thus is more commonly blended with higher-acid varieties rather than produced as a varietal wine. Flavors of lemon, peach, melon, pineapple and field flowers are often noted in Codega do Larinho wines.The R4 Douro Family
express them self by bottling it as single grape varietal with a great fresh well balanced white with some floral aromas and a good minerality.

Alvarinho is a variety of white wine grape grown in Monção and Melgaço (northwest Portugal), where it is used to make varietal white wines. In Portugal it is known as Alvarinho, and sometimes as Cainho Branco in Spain is known as Albarino
It was presumably brought to Iberia by Cluny monks in the twelfth century Its name "Alba-Riño" means "the white [wine] from the Rhine" and it has locally been thought to be a Riesling clone originating from the Alsace region of France, although earliest known records of Riesling as a grape variety date from the 15th, rather than the 12th, century. It is also theorized that the grape is a close relative of the French grape Petit Manseng

This wine from selected grapes of old Alicante Bouschet vines, dedicated to his father, foot-trodden in marble tanks with temperature control, has been slowly matured during 14 months in new French oak “barriques”. This wine shows a dark ruby colour with dark plum, kirsch, blackberry and chocolate aromas. Silky and intense finish, with round matured tannins.
