Harvest is one of the most important moments in the w**emaking year.

Oak barrels do much more than simply store w**e.

That's one of the reasons we enjoy introducing customers to w**es they may not recognise by name but remember long after the last glass.

Have you ever noticed the deep indentation on the bottom of some w**e bottles?

It's called a punt, and while many people assume it indicates a higher-quality w**e, that's not actually the case.

Historically, punts helped strengthen bottles, particularly for sparkling w**es under pressure, and made it easier for sediment to settle in some older w**es. Today, they're often part of the bottle's design and tradition rather than a sign of quality.
