Having been back from Campbeltown for a week now and having time to reflect we thought we’d share some thoughts. The week was packed full of wonderful tastings and getting to catchup with friends from across the country. This is a week we look forward to each year and this year was no different, we sampled some amazing drams at the Decedent North Dog which for us was a highlight of the festival. Glen scotia day was great but we felt there could have been some more drams to sample on the bar. The Springbank open day was great and we sampled some great drams from the bar. The festival bottles disappointed not just us but many we spoke to it was felt that the Longrow was just not good enough and although the Springbank was good we hoped for a little more from it the Hazelburn was nice but once again lacked a little complexity. Overall the week was made by the people we meet and the drams shared across tasting and hidden in bags. We will be back next year so hope to see more of you then.
