LSE SU Debate Society

LSE SU Debate Society The Debate Society seeks to provide a forum for developing public speaking, logic, argumentation and rhetorical skills at the London School of Economics.

The Debate Society represents LSE at inter-varsity competitions throughout Britain, Europe and the world. We hold weekly practice sessions that are open to students of all levels. Additionally, we organize internal tournaments for LSE students and host external tournaments that attract competitors from around the world.

Here at LSE Debate, we wanted to take a moment to appreciate the achievements of every single debater who has represented us post this calendar year!

At least, at a physical tournament. If we tried including all the online ones the publicity team might cry. But don’t get us wrong, we still see everything you guys do and are so proud of you!

Thank you to everyone who has worked hard to bring honour to the LSE name! We are so excited for you to carry that flame into the next academic year, both new and old faces alike!

This summer, we sent 4 teams to Utrecht EUDC!

We had:
LSE A - Kay Boon and Rohan
LSE B - Annamaria and Aslan
LSE C - Dominic and Priyansh
LSE D - Meagan and Rayaan

After many months of preparation, our teams represented us at the highest level and came away with much to be proud of. Swipe to see how we did!

On behalf of the LSE Debate Society, we’d like to give a big thanks to all the selectors, judges, opponents and friends that have helped us along the way. We’ll work hard to keep up the good work for the 2026/27 season!

Summer’s over, results are in, and you’re on your way to THE LSE!

And there’s no better way to kick off your first year at university than by shouting smart things at people once a week and calling it competitive debating. Okay, maybe more than once.
