To celebrate World Ch*****ne Day next week, our Master of W**e, Jane Masters MW, has recommended the elegant non-vintage Boizel Brut Réserve Ch*****ne 🥂

“I’m particularly partial to a Ch*****ne, and this one, made by a small, family-owned house is a real find. A blend of the three classic Ch*****ne grapes, with slightly more Pinot Noir, it has delicate white fruit notes followed by citrus and brioche. Spending a minimum of three years on lees, as it’s a non-vintage, it also includes 40% reserve w**es (older w**es from previous years) giving it extra complexity and texture.

Boizel was founded in 1834 by former pastry chefs Julie Martin and Auguste Boizel and sits in pride of place on Épernay’s famed Avenue de Ch*****ne. It was one of the first Ch*****ne houses to release a Brut (dry) Ch*****ne at a time when the w**es from the region were much sweeter. Now run by sixth-generation brothers Lionel and Florent, Boizel is famous for its Collection Trésor library vintages and historic cellars holding 11 bottles of its original 1834 vintage, which are among the world's oldest surviving Ch*****nes.

If you’re looking to explore beyond the grandes marques, this is a great place to start.” 🍾

Discover Boizel Brut Réserve Ch*****ne today for just £36 when you Mix Any Six or More in store and online: www.majestic.co.uk/sparkling-w**es/boizel-brut-reserve-22490

Betrayal is a dish best served cold, and so is The Traitor White 👀

The nights are drawing in, which can only mean one thing: it’s time to gather round the fire, form alliances, and pour a glass worthy of a high-stakes night in a Scottish castle.

You don’t have to be a celebrity or a national treasure to take part in this mission. The real question, where do your loyalties lie? Are you staying faithful to the vibrant, crowd-pleasing style of The Guv’nor, or have you been seduced by the dark side with The Traitor?

With flavour profiles bold enough to split a prize pot, these blends are made for drinking at home while you debate who is plotting in the shadows.

Which side will you take tonight? Step into your local Majestic to grab a bottle of each for your next viewing party, and let us know in the comments whether you’re a Faithful or a Traitor! 🏰

This week, our Master of W**e, Jane Masters MW, recommends the Villa Mura Bardolino, a bright, fresh Italian red from the eastern shores of Lake Garda, made by the historic Sartori estate.

“A light Italian red is the perfect transition between summer rosés and full-bodied winter reds, and as autumn sets in, this Bardolino is a great place to start. If you like the reds from neighbouring Valpolicella, then you’ll love this.

Pale ruby in the glass, each grape in the blend plays its part: Corvina Veronese brings crisp acidity and sour red cherry notes, Rondinella offers vibrant red berry fruit, Corvinone adds structure and tannin, Molinara lifts the freshness, and Merlot adds plush red and black fruit. Refined yet easy-drinking, it finishes with notes of bitter cherry. Perfect with cured meats, light pasta dishes, or roasted white meats.

Sartori dates back to 1898 when hotelier Pietro Sartori bought the Villa Maria estate simply to keep his hotel guests supplied with good w**e. Four generations later, they introduced the Villa Mura label, named after the estate’s original stone walls, to showcase the region’s fresh, approachable style. Sourced from the breezy hills along Lake Garda in northern Italy, the grapes are gently crushed and macerated on their skins for four days, fermenting at cool temperatures in stainless steel to preserve the crunchy red fruit and natural acidity. If you’re looking for an elegant, food-friendly red as the seasons change, this is a wonderful choice at an incredible value.”

Discover a jewel of California’s Central Coast 💎

Edna Valley is a true gem on California’s Central Coast. With vineyards sitting just five miles from the Pacific Ocean, they have spent over 30 years perfecting w**es that belong in this cool maritime climate – starting with their benchmark Chardonnay. Over the decades, they’ve brought that same coastal expertise to crafting an equally impressive Pinot Noir.

The Pinot Noir leads with vibrant notes of blackberry compote, black cherry, and cranberry, carrying a smooth texture and rich, fruity character. In contrast, the Chardonnay balances a rich yet crisp palate, unfolding with ripe flavours of white peach, apricot, and melon, alongside a subtle hint of spice.

A lesser-known region, delivering authentic California w**e craftsmanship at exceptional value.

Ready to explore the Central Coast? Pop into store this weekend to chat all things California w**e with the ream, or even find a perfect pairing for dinner 🍷
