🇿🇦New Dawn OG Chenin 🇿🇦
A brilliant arrival to our stores, straight out of South Africa, this Chenin Blanc comes from a new project for the extremely talented winemaker, Rudger Van Wyk.
Why “OG”? Originally shorthand for “Original Gangster,” the phrase has come to mean authentic, exceptional, and foundational.
And what could be more fitting?
💛Chenin Blanc is South Africa’s true OG grape: versatile, resilient, and deeply rooted in the country’s winemaking story.
This is Rudger’s maiden release under the New Dawn name and we couldn’t be more excited to stock the wine by the bottle and have it on by the glass this month.
It’s fair to say, our own Captain Khaki aka is a big fan:
“Ecstatically excited to see this wine arrive, not so much OG, as OMG for me! It’s sensational value.”
🧐What to expect?
A wine that immediately bursts with aromas of juicy white peach🍑, baked apple dusted with cinnamon, and a hint of vanilla pod from its careful oak 🛢️ageing.
On the palate, it’s vibrant and electric – tangy citrus, tangerine, and grapefruit zest dance alongside green apple 🍏 pastilles.
Concentrated yet beautifully balanced, it shows Rudger’s hallmark precision and energy.. 🌿🍏🍋
Perfect with sunshine, friends, and anything from seafood, grilled fish, crispy roast chicken to cheese + charcuterie.
