Some winemakers you just click with and Hanneke is absolutely one of them.
We were lucky enough to get a visit from her last year and we’re thrilled to tell you she’s back again in June bringing with her beautifully judged wines that perfectly capture her thoughtful, site-driven approach.
In the meantime, two of Hanneke’s wines have arrived on our shelves under her Vino pH label:
🍓Pinot Noir – from cooler coastal sites, this is all about finesse and clarity: red cherry, cranberry and wild strawberry, with a gentle savoury edge (think dried herbs and a touch of earth). Bright, fresh and beautifully lifted.
🍇Cabernet, Cinsault – ripe cassis and blackberry from the Cabernet, softened and lifted by the Cinsault. The result? A wine with real depth, but also freshness with fine, supple tannins, a hint of graphite and cedar, and a more fluid, easy-drinking feel than you might expect.
And then there’s the second photo, straight from harvest.
Hanneke did joke this was her “heaviest ever” vintage, purely for optimal foot stomping conditions 🦶🍇 - we respect the commitment!
If you want to meet her in person, taste four of her wines and hear the stories behind them, she’ll be joining us in Teddington for a relaxed Table Talk tasting on June 3rd. It’s going to be a lot of fun.
