HH&C was established in 1978 in Kensington Church Street. 36 years on, and now with shops in London, Gloucestershire and Hampshire, we pride ourselves on our outstanding range of high-quality, hand-selected wines and efficient, friendly service. Our list is diverse and dynamic, and only includes wines that we want to take home and drink ourselves. A little excitement yesterday as this beauty arrived in London! 🍷 A brand-new discovery from a grower we’ve been working with for some time. We were all so excited to get our hands on a bottle to take home. ‘Mid ruby-purple in the glass, aromas are pure and perfumed – ripe black berries and violet. Medium bodied, this is a plush, tender, silkily textured w**e which glides over the palate, having fine structure, finishing harmoniously fresh.’

We were thrilled to see our 2022 Chateau Paret top Victoria Moore’s selection of favourite w**es to drink as cooler, autumn weather arrives in last weekend’s Telegraph. Writing in on 26th September, she says:

“If claret is your thing and you like to spend £12-18 on a bottle then you need to be on the Haynes Hanson & Clark (HH&C) email list. Each year, the buyers at HH&C scout out some terrific buys that are generally better than anything you can find in a supermarket at the same price. I’ve gone with Château Paret because it is delicious and also because it’s a style that appeals to a range of tastes. From the appellation of Castillon, right next to St Émilion, it is merlot-based and opens with a soft fleshiness and fruitiness that St Émilion drinkers might enjoy. There’s even a subtle touch of fruitcake on the finish. That said, Paret is not heavy: it has freshness and clarity and a lithe redcurrant leaf fragrance that comes from the cabernet franc in the mix. Pour it with roast beef, lamb chops, guinea fowl, sausages, almost anything.”
