Ciao a tutti!
Yes we are flirting with a little Italian today as we have some seriously rare wine to introduce
A fabulous 100% Sangiovese from Mendoza
There has been a long history of Italians migrating to Argentina, way back since the 1700s and their influence stretches widely across current culture, from the way Argentinians speak, influence on food and of course world class wines
And we at Ruta40 are lucky enough to have just introduced this lovely 2023 Sangiovese from Dyas Wines
Grown on prized Valley de Uco plots, medium bodied with flavours of plum and cherry and a nose of thyme and leather. This is a perfect red for those days you want something a little lighter and dryer than Malbec, but still with the same complexity
And, no surprise, paring this with any Italian food featuring tomato, lighter cheeses and oregano is ideal
Argentina produces only 10% of the Italian quantity of Sangiovese but with Mendoza’s high altitude vineyards, Andes mountain water supply and reliable weather these wines are world class
We hope you get a chance to try this. There are very few bottles of Argentinian Sangiovese in the UK
Saluti!
