✨ Max Ferdinand Richter Mülheimer Sonnenlay Riesling « Zeppelin » – A Wine with History in Every Glass ✨
Some wines tell a story. This one carries a legend. ✨🍷
The Mülheimer Sonnenlay Riesling « Zeppelin » from Weingut Max Ferdinand Richter is one of Germany’s most iconic Rieslings, celebrating a remarkable chapter in wine history. In the 1920s and 1930s, wines from the Mülheimer Sonnenlay vineyard were proudly served aboard the legendary Graf Zeppelin and Hindenburg airships. The striking Art Deco label, designed by Bauhaus artist Hans Schlösser, continues to honour that extraordinary heritage today.
Nestled on the steep, slate-rich slopes of the Mosel, the Mülheimer Sonnenlay vineyard combines sunshine, ancient slate soils, and generations of winemaking expertise to produce Rieslings of exceptional elegance and mineral purity.
🍏 On the Nose:
Fresh apple, citrus zest, and delicate slate minerality.
🍑 On the Palate:
Crisp orchard fruits, juicy peach, vibrant acidity, and a beautifully pure mineral backbone. Elegant, refreshing, and wonderfully balanced, with a long, zesty finish that invites another sip.
This is more than a Riesling—it’s a piece of German wine history, combining timeless craftsmanship with the unmistakable character of the Mosel.
💬 If you could enjoy a glass of Riesling anywhere... would it be on a luxury airship soaring above Europe or overlooking the vineyards of the Mosel?
