Right now we would have been opening the doors to this year’s Spring Tasting. Since our friends Gergovie Wines invited us to join their annual event it has become the highlight of our year and an annual tradition for many winemakers and friends from all over the world who make the annual pilgrimage to the Round Chapel. As we won’t be able to see each other this year, we’ve teamed up with Gergovie to put together a case of wines from some of the tasting’s great characters to be enjoyed at home. You can order yours via the link in our bio before 12noon on Wednesday, or until sold out. London addresses will receive their wines on Friday & those elsewhere at the beginning of the following week. We can’t wait until next year, it’s going to be the best yet.

Oh Thursday join us on the terrace at Ombra as Damiano hosts an evening of food, music and wine with an ode to the sunshine. Things flow from 5pm and there is no need to book and all are welcome, so pop down whenever suits for a bite to eat and a glass of wine.

This weekend Alex will be in Edinburgh for another instalment of the Wild Wine Fair, pouring a rays of sunshine like this one-of-kind Primitivo from Cristiano Guttarolo. Taking place in the beautiful surrounds of Timberyard, this is always one of the highlights of our year and we can’t wait to see you all on Sunday.

On Friday Alex is hosting a tasting at Noble Fine Liquor on Broadway Market sharing his favourite wines for the summertime. Expect light, bright and fragrant wines like Nino Barraco’s Vignammare, which is as close as you’ll get to a dip in the Mediterranean riding the 55. Tickets are £10 for six wines and can be purchased via the shop. Drop by and start your weekend with some rays of sunshine.

The forecast for Saturday is some positively Sicilian sunshine. ‪Join us at The Remedy from 4pm‬ for Vignammare and cozze gratinate out on the terrace and ‪from 6pm‬ for a menu that celebrates the best the island has to offer. Expect classics like sfincione, crudo di pesce, pasta con le sarde, stigghiola & cannoli alongside a special wine list celebrating the wonderful wines made by our three guys in Sicily - Nino Barraco, Gabrio Bini of Serragghia and Filippo Rizzo of Lamoresca. Three colours Santa Maria. We have just received three new wines from Marino Colleoni in bottles big and small. As always, his Ansonica and Rosato from last year’s harvest are the kind of easygoing, soulful wines you’ll want to drink everyday, while like previous vintages his Rosso di Montalcino ‘16 remains a reference for the genre. From this cooler year it is compact and elegant, with every little detail in place.
