One of Abruzzo’s most established and respected cooperative wineries, .tollo was founded in 1960 in the town of Tollo near Chieti, and is celebrated for championing indigenous Abruzzese grape varieties including Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Pecorino, Trebbiano and Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo.

Today, the winery works with hundreds of growers across around 2,500 hectares of vineyards, gaining international recognition for combining traditional winemaking with sustainability and modern innovation.

A chilled glass of 2024 Iselis from per favore! A distinctive Sardinian white wine made from 100% Nasco, an ancient indigenous grape grown around Cagliari in southern Sardinia.

Richer and more textured than a typical crisp Italian white, sitting somewhere between Mediterranean freshness and lightly oaked depth. Perfect with a bowl of pasta, preferably lobster, whilst planning our summer getaway to Sardinia this Saturday evening ...

Lugana San Benedetto by is born in the historic heart of San Benedetto di Lugana, where the cooling lake breezes and mineral-rich soils create one of Italy’s most quaffable white wines.

Fresh and enveloping on the nose, the palate unfolds in layers with dried apple, pineapple, pear and delicate hints of vanilla and finishing bright and smooth.

Perfect as an aperitif, but versatile enough to take you all the way through dinner.

is a boutique winery just outside Orvieto, producing mineral-driven wines on ancient volcanic seabed soils dating back millions of years. The estate itself dates back to 1212, before being revived in 1973 by Claudio Barbi and now led by Enzo Barbi.

Known for their distinctive marine minerality and for creating Italy’s first noble rot (“Pourriture Noble”) wine in 1981, the winery continues to advocate innovative yet beautifully balanced wines.

Their 2020 Umbria Rosso IGT “Villa Barbi” is ruby red, intense, smooth and perfectly balanced and we think, best enjoyed after 30 minutes of air before drinking.

Not the overly sweet Lambrusco of the past, Otello 1813 is a modern take being richer and well structured, redefining this category of wine as a premium, food-friendly option.

Unlike lighter sparklings, this is perfect to go with heartier food. Cured meats, slow-cooked ragù and aged parmesan, the freshness and fizz cutting effortlessly through.

Bank Holiday Sunday supper, done right in our opinion.

Tuesday evening we caught up with friends for a tasting with , bringing the taste of Etna to the heart of Shoreditch 🌋

On the table: Etna Bianco, Etna Rosato and Etna Rosso - a great reminder that fabulously tasting wine brings people together, conviviality and new friendships.
