Introducing Three Exceptional Wines from Armenia!
We’re incredibly excited to welcome a truly unique collection of wines to Amathus – three extraordinary projects led by Armenian winemaker Vahe Keushguerian and his daughter Aimee. Produced in Khachik, a high-altitude village in the Vayots Dzor region of Armenia, these wines reflect extreme mountain viticulture. With vineyards planted at altitudes above 1,500 metres, on volcanic soils and from ungrafted centennial vines, these wines represent some of the most extreme viticulture on the planet.
Keush Wines
Armenia’s first traditional method sparkling wine, Keush is crafted from ungrafted 60–100-year-old vines at 1,750m elevation – the highest sparkling wine vineyard in the Northern Hemisphere. Crisp, mineral, and truly distinctive.
Molana Wines
As seen in Somm 4: Cup of Salvation, Molana is made from Rasheh, an ancient Persian varietal grown in Iran and vinified in Armenia. This is the first Iranian wine exported in nearly 50 years, with only 1,200 cases produced – a rare piece of wine history.
Zulal Wines
Founded by Aimee Keushguerian in 2017, Zulal showcases Armenia’s indigenous Areni and Voskehat grapes. Grown on old, ungrafted vines at high altitudes, these wines are pure, expressive, and full of terroir-driven character.
