I think this workshop comes at a good time. Many of us have been feeling disconnected, powerless and sadly even unsure of our future. Our community has been built on real lives and real stories, the memories, struggles, and celebrations of the people who made Waltham Forest what it is today, stories that are important to be documented. In times when it’s easy to feel lost or overwhelmed by misinformation, it matters even more to share the truths we carry with us.

Writing Waltham Forest is about gathering together to write, reflect, and give voice to the stories that connect us, with NON POLITICAL FOCUS.

We’ll share experiences, explore our local history, and shape them into short stories with the help of guest tutors.

I signed the introduction to let everyone know we have a BSL practice group here every other Thursday. My first signing was a bit bumpy, but I really enjoyed it! 🙌
