Eight years ago today, we opened !
A lot has changed in eight years (for one I can’t fit in that shirt anymore - that’s what eight years of running a beer shop does for!)
We couldn’t have done it without the support of the local customers & community.
It’s currently harder than ever to run an independent shop; pandemics, economic downturns, rising costs etc etc.
BUT we carry on fighting the good fight otherwise your local high street would be full of chains and dull mass produced products.
We are going to tweek a few things going forward; more natural wine, non-alcoholic options, maybe more home provisions all supporting other independent producers & real people.
It is only with your continued support that we can survive; if you are considering getting a bottle of wine from the local supermarket, pop in and try something for a few quid more that will taste infinitely better and will also be supporting real people & an independent business (or two).
Thank you to all the regulars who support us every week, all the suppliers, all my lovely staff over the years & of course my family for supporting me in this venture.

Tomorrow Saturday 7th December is Small Business Saturday.
We’ve just been told the very sad news that the FUSS Christmas Fayre will not be going ahead due to Storm Darragh.
This is usually by far our busiest day of the year which now won’t be happening.
Please come out and support ourselves and other small independent shops at this time of year - it makes a huge difference to real people, families who need your support.
We’ve got loads of present ideas, stocking fillers not just beer but wine & cocktails too.
Open till 9pm tomorrow so please try to support your local independent stores 🙏🏻

Welsh, skin contact orange wine - that’s a phrase you don’t hear very often !
Orange wine is very hard to track down & never hangs around for long.
Made with predominantly Albariño grapes grown on the Ancre Hill Estates in the Welsh county of Monmouthshire.
The grapes underwent 100% whole bunch maceration for between 30 to 50 days. Fermentation was finished in oak and stainless steel for aging on lees for a minimum of 10 months.
The twelve hectares of vineyards are perfectly positioned on South facing slopes close to the border of Monmouth and the Wye Valley. The estate utilises traditional biodynamic and organic viticultural practices.
Deep, savoury with nectarine & tangerine along with lifted herbal notes.
