The Manhattan cocktail is a staple of classic cocktails, and with only three ingredients, it's also easy to make!
⭐️ Whisky (60ml)
⭐️ Sweet Vermouth (30ml)
⭐️ Angostura aromatic bitters (1-3 dashes)
- Optionally, you can add a cherry as a garnish!
Steps:
1. Fill your glass with ice.
2. Add all your ingredients into a mixing glass with ice and stir for 18-20 seconds.
3. Pour the drink into your glass.

The Old Fashioned may arguably be the most well-known whiskey cocktail in the world.

Here's how you can make it:

Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon sugar.
- 1-3 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 teaspoon water
- 60ml whiskey or bourbon, if preferred
- Optional splash of soda water
- Optional garnish: orange slice or maraschino cherry

Steps:
1. Add the sugar and bitters into a mixing glass, then add the water, and stir until the sugar is nearly dissolved.

2. Fill the mixing glass with ice, add the whiskey, and stir until well-chilled.

3. Add a splash of soda water if you wish and mix.

4. Garnish with the orange and cherry!

Wine is made from grapes, that's a fact that everyone knows, but here's where things get a little more complicated. Variety and varietal, two words that sound so similar but tell us something very different about a wine.

A grape's 'variety' refers to the type of grape, as in its scientific species.

Is it a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Merlot or maybe a Malbec?

However, the word 'varietal' is used when a wine itself is made up exclusively, or at least 75%, of one specific type of grape.

Simply put, the variety is a noun. It's the name of the actual type of grape used. However, varietal is an adjective. It's describing the grapes that the wine is made from.

Winemaking is an impressive and ancient art that has evolved over thousands of years.

From grape growing to fermentation, many steps go into crafting the perfect bottle.

⭐️ The first step is growing and harvesting. Once the grapes are perfectly ripe, they are then picked and ready to be crushed and pressed.

⭐️ Crushing breaks open the grape's skin, releasing the juice from each fruit. Pressing fully squeezes the juice from the skin and pulp.

⭐️ Next up is fermentation, where yeast covers the grapes and converts the sugars into alcohol.

⭐️ After the initial fermentation, wines undergo ageing and clarification, often in oak barrels, before finally being bottled, corked, foiled and labelled ready to be enjoyed!
