Ok. Confession time!! A few days after running the Oxford Half my mood plummeted. I was on such a high straight after but then I seemed to completely lose my mojo and felt really low. I had to literally force myself out on a run for the first couple of weeks and I knew if I didn’t, there was a danger I would stop. My instinct told me to flip the switch a bit and concentrate more on strength and flexibility training. Believe it or not we lose muscle when we run and muscles can become tighter. Since doing this, through a combination of gym, yoga along with swimming, at my fab local gym my motivation has returned and during my run on Sunday I could already feel the benefit of the work I have been doing. My mood is back to where it was and I feel ready for whatever the next challenge is. Sometimes flipping the switch is what we need. Especially during these mood- zapping cold winter months 🥶
