Join us for the first of what will be our Summer Feasts in our beautiful covered garden restaurant over at our sister store, Mangetout!

Our chef Arthur will be cooking up a storm, with our first Sunday Lunch Feast this Sunday 15th June. The perfect Fathers Day outing! There'll be incredible food, along with a great choice of wines from us.

Pinot Grigio. Discuss.

Pinot Grigio has a long association with affordable dry, refreshing quaffing wine. It tends to get overlooked at the quality end. But get your hands on a Pinot Grigio from Alto Adige, Northern Italy, and you’ll know it from the very first sip!

The high altitude, mineral rich vineyards, warm days and cool nights are perfect conditions for slow ripening the enhance the grapes natural aroma and complexity.

So my question is would you pay £20 for a bottle of outstanding Pinot Grigio?

And if the label was spectacularly bad Would you still go for it?!

Say Goodbye, Say Hello!

Finally, the month of abstinence is way behind us, and it's time to ring the changes and celebrate! After ten years of building a fantastic business, Dom is stepping aside, and with him, we say goodbye to Barrel & Still. But, welcome Decanter Wines & Spirits!

Dom, however, will be staying with us, along with Nik as well as myself, as we welcome Decanter into the Mangetout family.

We'll be enhancing our selection of fantastic wines as well as increasing our spirits range. With something for everyone, with our choice of the best wines from £10 upwards.

We're planning on launching some great nights and events, such as our Wine & Cheese Club. Uncorked Wine Bar nights and lots of special tasting events with our great producers & suppliers.

Watch this space as we transform over the coming weeks.

We can't wait to welcome you and serve you your favourite tipple.

It’s with great sadness and also some excitement to announce that I will be leaving Barrel & Still next week (Friday 26th April) after many years of love and service. It’s been an absolute pleasure spending so much time with you all over the years, getting to know your families’ and organising drinks for all of your life events. I have advised your purchases, worked alongside some amazing colleagues and friends, passionate business owners, incredibly talented suppliers and clients, it has been a hell of a journey, one I will reflect on for all the decades to come.

Myself, my incredible fiancé Susannah and our beautiful children Evie and Luca cannot wait for the next chapter. Dominic Trounce the Founder of Barrel & Still and one of the finest bosses I have ever had the pleasure of working for will continue to steer the Barrel & Still ship into the future and I wish him and his wife Claire all the success in the world. Finally, to quote Tim Mcgaw “We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we will take a little of each other everywhere.” Salut 🍷
