The most travelled man in whisky makes his way to the North East of Scotland for an in-house Blether live from the Inverurie Whisky Shop tasting room!

Kenny, co-founder and owner of Dram Mor, is a natural story-teller and possesses an immense knowledge of all things whisky.

Following on from life as a broker or casks, Kenny has helped many an independent bottler start up, as well as travelling the country as an ambassador for distillery brands such as Tamdhu and Glengoyne.

Well known around the world for great whisky and great chat, we can't wait to sit down with Kenny to see what's new - and probably pitch a few tasting events - with all you great people.

๐Ÿชต The Forgotten Colony of Bennachie ๐Ÿ”๏ธ

Tucked beneath the shadow of Aberdeenshireโ€™s most beloved hill lies a story few remember โ€” that of The Colony. Throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, a small group of families carved out a life on the slopes of Bennachie, living off the land, building homes by hand, and forging a tight-knit community.

These were crofters, stonemasons, weavers โ€” hardy folk who chose freedom and self-reliance over the growing grip of landowners. But the world outside crept closer and piece by piece, the colony was swallowed by eviction, poverty, and, eventually, silence.

In 1939 the last colonist, George Esson, passed away, spending his life until his last days on the hillside.

Today, moss-covered ruins remain as quiet testaments to a people who lived simply, proudly, and close to the earth.

It's a history most locals don't know, but a wander around the Colony Trail from the Bennachie Centre is a wonderful reminder of the rich heritage on our doorstep.

Tormore Blueprint collection explores the future flavour profile through curated small batch expressions, each highlighting a distinct wood influence. From soft stone fruits to spiced oak and delicate sherry richness, each bottle offers a snapshot of whatโ€™s to come, rooted in the whiskyโ€™s historic charm and crafted character. Much of this style is driven by the fruit driven wash but also created by the large purifiers on each still that allow for maximum reflux and copper contact.
