W**E OF THE WEEK:Signora Ginni Sparks… I LOVE this one. It’s a rosé pét-nat, full of raspberry, cranberry and pomegranate, with a gentle fizz and a crisp, refreshing finish. It’s joyful, a little wild, and dangerously easy to drink. This is the bottle I’m taking out with the girls.

That deep purple rosé colour makes it perfect for autumn, especially with days reaching 16 degrees and evenings dropping to 5. It has enough juicy red-fruit richness to feel cosy as the temperature falls, while the gentle fizz and crisp finish keep it fresh for those brighter afternoons.

So, what actually is a pét-nat? Short for pétillant naturel, it’s a naturally sparkling w**e made by bottling the w**e before fermentation has finished, allowing the remaining fermentation to create its own bubbles. Think of it as a relaxed, slightly rustic cousin to Prosecco, with softer bubbles and plenty of character. This is exactly why we do W**e of the Week: so you can try a pét-nat for the first time, or explore something new without committing to a whole bottle. Come in and try a glass, then take one home for your next girls’ night if you love it as much as I do. Trust me on this one.

🚨NEW CASK ALERT!!!! 🚨

Lightbulb from Verdant has just gone on our cask line, YES, you read that right CASK LINE. This special version of our old friend has been released to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

It’s the same much-loved Extra Pale Ale, but with a new way to enjoy it. Expect those signature lemon sherbet notes, with a soft, fluffy smoothness that makes every sip a pleasure.

Think the hoppy character of Lightbulb meets the silky feel of a New England pale, finished with that classic rocky white cask head. Ten years in, and Lightbulb is giving us another reason to raise a pint. Come and try it while it’s on!

Number 2 features our Oktoberfest special Fest B**r - a deep gold b**r with fresh white bread and biscuit malty goodness with a fresh and floral hop finish.

line 3 features a NEIPA from Pomona Island Brew Co which is fruity and tropical with a subtle coconut cream finish. YUMMERS!

Line 6 brings the return of The Gathering, An ALL LEEDS amber ale made at Horsforth Brewery 🍺 in collaboration with Shadow Brewing Truth Hurts Brewing Sunbeam Ales Kirkstall Brewery Wetherby Brew Co Bini Brew Co and Piglove Brewing Co - talk about expertise on this one!

and line 8 has a MEGA West Coast DIPA in the form of Double Canopy from our buddies

Remember we don’t just do b**r ;) Our W**e of the week this week is Funkstille Zweigelt from Austria. A bright and medium bodied red w**e with ripe red cherry, pomegranate and low tannins. Excitingly we have this one open at room temperature AND chilled so if you’re not in the mood for a b**r we’ve got you covered too!

This week we received an incredibly exciting delivery from Azvex Brewing Company !!

Coming soon to line 7 - Monster Aquarium, a 5.2% IPA with Nelson Sauvin and Mouteka. Expect plenty of bright citrus, tropical fruit and white grape character, with a soft, juicy body and a clean, refreshing finish

On the Shelves we have:

Hydra SCOOP - 6% Ice Cream Sour. Azvex Brewing Company and Mortalis Brewing Company come together to give us Hydra and SCOOP together in one seriously fruity sour. Loaded with raspberry and blackberry, it combines juicy dark berry flavour with smooth, creamy sweetness and a bright sour finish.

Homer’s Ithaca – 6.2% IPA. NZ Cascade, El Dorado and Citra hops. Expect a vibrant combination of tropical fruit, citrus and juicy stone fruit, with layers of grapefruit, orange, mango and ripe peach coming through alongside a soft, rounded bitterness.

AND (hang with me, this is about to get real nerdy)

Solid Snake & Liquid Snake – 6.2% IPA Same B**r, Different Process.

Hops: Krush & Nelson Sauvin. Solid Snake and Liquid Snake are two sides of the same brewing experiment. Both are 6.2% IPAs brewed with Krush & Nelson Sauvin, using the same ingredients and the same recipe. The difference is what happened during the brewing process. They have deliberately kept the details classified. What we can tell you is that each b**r has taken a different route from the same starting point, giving you the chance to taste the impact of process side-by-side.
Same ingredients. Same ABV. Different method.

Fuggle and Golding are privileged to announce we will be hosting the launch party and quiz for The Great Northern Quiz Book, the 13th book from Yorkshire quizmaster Jo Varley, with an exclusive ticket-only quiz night at Fuggle & Golding.

Packed with 2,500 questions celebrating everything that makes the North of England great, the book covers history, politics, literature, music, sport, culture and everything in between. From Captain James Cook to Yorkshire puddings, Roman forts to Premier League stadiums and Nora Batty’s hair curlers — there’s a bit of the whole North in here.

And who better to host a great northern quiz than the author himself? One of Ilkley’s own, Jo can usually be found at Ilkley Bowling Club, hosting quizzes around the Wharfe, or keeping wicket for Ilkley Cricket Club.
