Standing room only! It’s packed, the wines are flying out and it feels very much like what ‘real’ work must be like! I’m goosed and there’s four hours left!! It’s ruddy good fun though.

The time has come!! I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited about a road being open, I guess it’s something to do with my age. Anyway it is now significantly easier to get to us so we’ll see you soon.

What to drink when the mercury rises too high. Boutari Wines Vilana is a perfect summer tipple. Although the 36 degree heat did seem to cause alarmingly quick evaporation of our glasses, hic!

Greece is one of the most interesting wine producing countries around at the moment and the only way to really find out more is to visit. Bridget and I called in to Papagiannakos Winery to see first hand just what it is that makes Greek wines so interesting.

We had a truly fascinating day, and given that it was the second day of harvest, we felt so looked after. An amazing winery that we have known and stocked for a few years now seeing it first hand really let us see how much attention and love goes in to each and every wine here.

We had an amazing tasting and then even managed to nip down to the sea for more wine, some food and an incredible view.

A superb day, it may have been a little warm though! If you want to know more about these amazing wines then keep your eyes open for an upcoming Papagiannakos Winery tasting.

WE ARE CLOSING!

But only for a week. We need a summer holiday to recharge our batteries. So we’ll close the shop at 5:30pm on Friday 14th August and then we’ll reopen at 9:30am on Tuesday 25th August. We’ll be all refreshed and ready to bring you even more amazing deals and world class wines.
