Meet the Chaps at the Chopping Office…

First up is James!

If you’re a regular customer, you’ll know this face although you may not have seen much of him lately, as he’s been busy behind the scenes in the kitchen… (listening to heavy techno) or Cook-Shop, as we like to call it.

James is the man behind the lunches, meals and deli delights that you all enjoy so much.

When James first started with us around three years ago, coming from a Head Chef role and years of experience in high end eateries, it was always my intention to get him into a kitchen although one didn’t actually exist at the time!

We used to joke when he was working in the shop that it was always “anything but butchery” with James. One minute he’d be fixing an IT problem, the next doing maintenance, or coming up with yet another new idea for the oven-ready meal counter.

But we had a vision… and around six months ago, that vision finally became a reality.

We’re only just scratching the surface of all the wonderful things we’re going to produce from the Cook-Shop, and we can’t wait to show you what’s to come!

So, if you experience the rare sighting of James behind the counter, make sure you give him a shout!

Morning!!

We’re open 8am–6pm today with the usual line-up of dry-aged steaks, breakfast bits, roasting joints and top tier vino!

We don’t have a Lunch of the Day on today, unfortunately, as we’re catering for one of our lovely loyal customers.

We do have hot bone broth with fresh sourdough, plenty of sandwiches, pies and all the usual deli bits available throughout the day.

We look forward to seeing!

Here’s to another great week at the chopping office.

Swipe to see some highlights from last week…

We had some lovely venison haunch steaks from Fallow Buck.

Served our homemade chicken bone broth along with our lunch of the day on Friday - Reuben sandwiches packed with salt beef brisket.

We also had homemade beef tallow available.

You’ll notice the dry aged rump steak from a Hereford. Beauty!
