We’ve had a lot of fun at Hastings Wine & Coffee and we’ve genuinely enjoyed meeting so many of you along the way. Your kind comments about the shop, the service and not to forget our wonderful colleague, Frank, have left us feeling very grateful and glad to have taken the plunge into the world of independent retail and hospitality.

Despite trying lots of different ideas, we’ve never quite hit the numbers we needed to make things work. The first heatwave this summer really brought that into focus, with our numbers dropping by almost half overnight and they've not recovered.

Rebuilding from here would require a huge amount of time and energy. It would almost feel like starting over again. Regretfully, we've decided that the right thing to do is close the Queens Road shop, and take a break.

Saturday will be our last proper trading day, and we’d really love to see familiar faces in the shop.

Before we go, we have one more event, our Summer Chill Tasting. There are two tickets remaining and you can find out how to join the fun by following the link in our bio.

From Thursday through to Saturday, we’re having a Closing Down Sale with 30% off all wines, beers and spirits. There are some really good bottles on the shelves, so if you’ve had your eye on something, want to stock up, or just fancy finding a few bargains, this is definitely the weekend to come in.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, joined us for a tasting, popped in for a coffee or a glass of wine, or simply stopped for a chat. We’ve really appreciated it.

Coffee Cuppings

We had great fun with the coffee cuppings last Saturday so, we've decided to run them again. Darren will be setting up the table at 11am and again at 1pm.
