Figures to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Gensing Gardens. Previously known as Gensing Pleasure Ground, the park was created in 1872 and had its own pond until the 1960's. The figure/flag is a repainted version of the Anna Monro figurine.

This is a figure based on Anna Munro (the Scottish suffragette) that I made as a Christmas present for a friend in Hays, Kansas. It's a very interesting town that I explored a few years ago while visiting the U.S.

GAG figures are more small than large so I was pleased to finally finish the restoration work of the wooden Berlin figures before Christmas. Look forward to concentrating on the CAG 54mm range in the New Year.

All figures great and small…but mostly small.

CAG is a new (sole trader) company that produces 54mm figures of people with flags. The initial series features NHS staff, Carers, Suffragettes, Trade-Unionists, infamous Pirates and a ubiquitous protester.

Future CAG “Flagged Up” figures will include well-known international politicians, LGBTQ+ figures and banners and select (non-violent) organisations with flags.

Custom figures & flags are also available on demand.

Each CAG figure is hand-cast (not in a machine) and given a sealing coat of polyurethane varnish before being undercoated ready for painting.

Each individual flag is made from re-cycled aluminum and, as they are hand-painted, no flag is exactly the same.

When the figure is completed, it receives its unique serial number, as befitting an original collector’s piece.

I have always enjoyed drawing… and especially humans. The figures I created 15 years ago in Berlin-Neukölln are still standing but I have to complete the renovation work this year.

How different it is to work on larger-than-life figures than the CAG figurines I created recently which are only circa 6-inches tall (from their bases to the tip off their flags).
