Hey there,
I’ve got some awesome news to share! I’m part of a choir called “HEAR OUR VOICE,” and we’ve made it to the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.
Our audition was filmed back in January in Blackpool and aired on episode 2 of this season’s BGT on Saturday, March 1st. If you missed it, you can catch the whole show on ITV.com
Our choir is made up of people who were impacted by the Post Office Horizon Scandal, which you might know from the BAFTA-winning show “Mr. Bates vs. The Post Office.” It’s a powerful story about the biggest miscarriage of justice in British legal history. Hundreds of innocent sub-postmasters and postmistresses were wrongly accused of theft, fraud, and false accounting because of a faulty IT system.
Sir Alan Bates, who started the Justice for Subpostmasters Alliance (JFSA) with 555 sub-postmasters, took legal action against the Post Office Ltd.
I was one of those 555 members and kept my story under wraps for a long time. I still haven’t fully shared it. Maybe one day?!
We formed our choir with three main goals: to support each other, raise awareness about our cause and fight, and raise money for charity. We wanted to hit all these goals, but when we got the chance to be on Britain’s Got Talent, we realised it was the perfect platform to reach a wider audience.
