Community is everything!

This is Pauline. She is the epitome of community. She always has time for everyone, pure JOY, and never complains about a thing!

She collects two cappuccinos for her friend Kath, 93, who has one at lunch and one after her tea.
I think Pauline and Kath just spend their afternoons laughing!

We write little messages on Kath's lids. She sends us thank you notes with highland cows on and funny messages.

Today has been one of those non stop days with great chat! Big and small.

I love it. And thought Pauline deserved a place on here 😍

Happy Sunday and Fathers day to all you great dads (and Happy Birthday to my brilliant mum!)

What a weekend we've had, yesterday I didn't even have time to drink a coffee (this one is being fully enjoyed with a nata .rita.patisserie of course)

Whit Friday was INCREDIBLE! We absolutely loved it. ☀️🍺

Open today 10-4 for coffees and all that good stuff.

A wee appreciation post for community, shops, pubs and family.

I've just been in West Cork visiting my pal, she took me to an incredibly inspiring place called Levis' Corner House (first photo) in Ballydehob.
Full of the best energy and community. The real deal. Been in the family for over 100 years, originally run by two legendary sisters for decades, one of them still pouring Guinness/Murphy's into her 100s! Now run by their Grandnephew and his partner.
A shop, a pub, a music and arts venue, a place for everyone!

Got me thinking about my own family history and my Grandmothers shop in Newmarket, Co Cork (second photo)
O'Shea's - Open since the early 1900s by my Great Grandparents, passed down to my Grandmother who ran it all her life (whilst bringing up many children) and still owned and open today by my Auntie and Uncle.

Made me appreciate our little shop, our amazing community and how I've accidentally followed in my Grandmothers footsteps.

Wonder if we will still be here in 95 years? 😂

2. is baking some absolutely delicious sourdough in Mossley! Check him out. He popped in this afternoon off the cuff and sold all his 6 loaves in 30 mins!

3. One of our wonderful wee customers Fern made this BEAUTIFUL card, featuring Sylvie and Badger.

4. And me, I'm actually dressed in brown and black today too! 😍

Nothing for weeks and now I am double posting tonight, what is going on? 🤯

Well, I've just been thinking about how delicious these Natas are and how they deserve a spot on the grid.

Pastel de Natas made in the traditional and authentic way by Rita .rita.patisserie from Viseu in Portugal, who lives and bakes in Mossley 🇵🇹🥐

Available at ours on Saturday mornings!
(⚠️ They go pretty fast 💥)

Rita also does a few markets so give her a follow to see where else you can find her.

Very happy we found her! 😍
