URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Our Community Shop in Cobham Needs Your Help Now.

​We are writing to you today with extremely heavy hearts. The financial figures for the year so far have arrived, and after many challenges (road closures, hiked energy bills, faulty equipment to name a few), the reality is critical. The shop is currently not doing well at all, and without immediate and significant support, we are facing the very real threat of permanent closure.

​This shop was created to serve Cobham, but right now, we simply do not have enough community support to keep the doors open. We are fast running out of time and options.

​We are making an urgent plea to everyone in the village and all surrounding areas. We need help, and we need it now. Specifically:

​Grant Applications: We urgently need someone with experience or expertise in identifying and writing grant applications to help secure funding for the shop. If you have these skills or know someone who does, please get in touch immediately.

​Ideas and Solutions: If you can offer practical help with turning things around, and increasing footfall, we want to hear from you.

​Use the Shop: If you want a shop in this village, please support it. Every small purchase makes a difference to our survival. This is absolutely vital.

​If you can help in any way, whether by offering practical help, helping with grants, or volunteering your time, please leave a comment below, send us a private message, or come into the shop to speak with us directly.

​Please do not let Cobham lose this vital community asset.

We cannot do this alone.

À beautiful white cat was found on Cobhambury Road last night, unfortunately deceased. It was respectfully moved to the side of the road.

Posting just in case someone is looking for their puss.

Any driver/rider who causes death or injury by dangerous driving should receive a lifetime ban from driving/riding. If subsequently caught driving/riding, they should receive a substantial custodial sentence.

Another day, another road closed sign 🤷🏻‍♀️

It says the same at the top of Halfpence Lane coming off the motorway, and yet the road is actually closed at Henhurst, on the other side of the village, nowhere near Halfpence Lane and nowhere near the shop.

So do go past the signs, businesses in the village are open as usual and need your custom!

What an amazing Sunday morning this was! Yoga with Hannah was a totally amazing experience, it was my first time and certainly won't be my last. I was a little worried as a complete novice but Hannah was lovely and very supportive.

Thank you all for coming, a HUGE thank you to Hannah, and to Claire and the ladies from Complete Family Law Ltd for sponsoring and running the event. (I can tell you first hand that Claire is a fabulous lawyer, she listens to what you want, explains things in real English, and her and her team take care of all the complicated legal stuff 💜).

And finally thank you to Meadow RoomKent for letting us use their beautiful hall, we're very grateful.

We raised £350 for our village shop, which will go towards the cost of a new till!

Next Sunday!

The amazing Hannah will be taking us through two yoga classes (I'm saying "us" because, yes, I will be giving it a go, even though I have never done yoga in my life and I'm as bendy as a plank of wood).

Come and join me (rescue me? ) at the Meadow Rooms and support this great fundraiser for our community shop! As you can see, newbies welcome, and the wonderful Claire from Complete Family Law will have the bbq going, with veggie options too!

The sun is shining (hopefully for the whole day) and the bunting is up—our annual village fete is happening today at the Cobham Cricket Club from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Come along and enjoy a fantastic afternoon with family and neighbours. There's plenty to see and do, and best of all, entrance and parking are completely free.

We can't wait to see you there! What is your favourite part of the fete—the local stalls with plenty of homemade treats and goodies, the games, or just catching up with everyone?
