🆕🏴 Can we call this Duchesse de Bermondsey? If you, like me, love the super-sour Flanders Red/Oude Bruin style perfected by Duchesse de Bourgogne, you’re going to love this. If you don’t like a malty-sweet-balsamic-vinegary beer, this isn’t for you.
The Kernel aged this beer for 30 months in oak foeders to perfect the Belgian-ness required for this style.
The Kernel say “The debate over the past few weeks is whether this is a Flemish Red, a Flemish Bruin, an Oud Bruin, or Old Brown. We can’t say it’s Flemish, because we’re in London, and Old Brown is a rubbish name for anything but a retired pit pony, so we went with Oud Bruin.”
