📢 A Warm Welcome to the New Owners of M&B Newsagents! 📢

We are thrilled to welcome the new owners of M&B Newsagents, Kunal who has taken over this much-loved local business! Kunal has spent the past week with Dave & Karen working hard to ensure a smooth transition and whilst we have retired after nearly 40 wonderful years, we want to reassure all our valued customers that the shop remains open and continues to serve the community just as before.

We want to thank Kunal and their team for their dedication and investment in keeping M&B Newsagents thriving. We encourage all of our loyal customers to stop by, show their support, and continue enjoying everything you love about M&B!

Wow—what a truly heartwarming few days it has been. Reading all your lovely messages and stories from the shop has been so touching, and we can’t thank you enough for taking the time to share them. Seeing so many of you visit to say goodbye in person has meant the world to us.

After 22 years, it’s been incredible to reflect on the amazing community we’ve been a part of. Your support, kind words, and memories have made this time so special, and we feel truly grateful.

Thank you for everything—every visit, every chat, and every moment along the way. It has been an absolute pleasure.

After 22 years, it’s time for a new chapter.

This Sunday, 16th March, will be our last day running the shop. It’s been an incredible journey, and we want to say a huge thank you to all our customers for your support, loyalty, and the many chats over the years—especially about Spurs!

The shop was bought 38 years ago by Mick and Brenda who gave us the opportunity to take over. It has been our home for the last 22 years where we have raised our two children, Colin and Lucy as well as the two dogs Max and Hugo. It will be greatly missed!

We’ve loved watching the kids come in, proudly answering a maths question with Dave to earn their lollipop, and we truly appreciate all the kindness and patience during the past renovations we carried out. Your support through everything has meant the world to us.

To our staff, present and old, thank you. Without you none of this would have been possible; through Covid, the renovations and working extra so we could have some time away! You have become friends over the years and we will forever be grateful for all your hard work and support. Thank you!

The new owners will take over Monday 17th March at a later opening time due to the stock take. We hope you’ll continue to support them as you have supported us.

We’ll miss seeing you all, but we’re so grateful for the memories we’ve made along the way.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Michael Corcoran on 17th February 2025.

As many of you know, he was the heart of this shop for many years, bringing warmth, laughter and generosity to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

We appreciate your support and understanding during this time. Thank you for being part of his journey and for your continued support of his family business.
