Stones cleared from the main part of the Bay at last today (as far as the lifeboat slipway). The benches that have survived are back in place.
The digger driver was an absolute expert😊 A pleasure to watch in action.👏

STOP PRESS- The moment you’ve all been waiting for😊
The lifeboat shop is reopening for the season next Saturday 5th April until the end of October. Weather permitting we are open Tuesday-Sunday 1030-4.30 for all your beach goods, ice cream, hot and cold drinks, snacks and cakes, books, maps and so much more.
We will open on bank holiday Mondays as well.
Hope to see you this season.
The shop is run totally by a fantastic volunteer team and every penny of profits goes towards the Lifeboat operating costs.

URGENT- Santa visit update
Good morning everyone.
As the weather forecast tomorrow is for massive winds and some rain we are for safety reasons ( and the hope of keeping everyone dry) moving the venue for Santas visit to the Gate cafe over the road (thank you Ro and Allie).
Timings are the same.
A free gift for every child and a free mince pie for everyone (thank you Medina Foodservice for the pies).
The Bay car park is free tomorrow but please take great care crossing the road to get to the Gate main door.

Unfortunately Wightwood pizza will not be there- sorry

The shop is now shut until next Easter. Thank you for your support this year.
Now you have Santas visit to look forward to.🎅

Less than a month to go now for Santa’s visit to the Bay.
Santa says he can’t wait to come and see the children.
A small free gift for every child and mince pies for all.

Paddle boarders - PLEASE take a little more care in your planning before venturing into the water.
The freshwater lifeboat has been tasked to 4 paddle board related incidents in the past week alone.

Understand the tides in your area. Check tide times to work out which way the flow will be going.
Check the winds- if it’s an offshore wind be VERY careful. If you are in Freshwater Bay and the shop is open their should be 2 flags on the promenade wall which will show you the local direction.
Don’t go further out than you can safely recover from if something changes.
Wear a safety line.
Wear a bouyancy aid.
Take your mobile phone in a waterproof pouch.
Tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back.

UPDATE: good news, our internet provider has sorted the problem and our card machine is now back up for all your essential purchases.
Apologies for yesterday.

You can now buy all your goodies- ice cream/Eccles cake/books/tea towels/ bucket and spade/tea, coffee and hot chocolate with either card or cash.🥴

PS. Now that the council have installed the seats on the prom there’s somewhere to sit as well. 😊

FiLB SHOP REOPENING ON GOOD FRIDAY 😊

Yes it's time to reopen the shop for the season. Open Tues- Sundays 1030- 1630, closed Mondays except for bank holidays, weather permitting of course.
Everything is clean and shiny and stocked with everything you might need for a day in the Bay - and a bit more!
The coffee machine is running, the ice cream freezer is stocked up. A fresh selection of books are on the shelves so we are all ready to go.
