Toms galore from the greenhouse and consuming all day long. Beginning to look like a Tom even!! Trying to vary the meals and need recipes please. Any suggestions? Salads yes and stuffed peppers. Also will try and replicate the lovely delish flans our vigneron Brigitte used to make for our wine tour guests at Domaine de L’Enchantoir. A wonderful memory. She had a secret ingredient which was Pierre’s Marc made with spirit and grape juice in a large demijohn on the kitchen counter. And a tomato tarte tartin.

We picked our first tomatoes today.
They are beefsteak variety. I'll be putting them in the lunch salad with a nice glass of Muscadet Sur Lie to accompany the dish. A light refreshingwine which also goes with seafood and fish and of course as an aperitif during this hot weather! It needs to be nice and cold.

Found the jam pot after much searching amongst the pile of boxes.
Its marmalade season so much activity making sufficient quantities for the whole year.
If anyone is eager to try mine its £3 a jar so get your orders in please. My style is a soft set so not boiled to a sticky end. Mine tastes of orange as it should.

Its a pleasure to cook mussels again after such a long time. Last time I had any was in France in a restaurant in Montreuil Bellay called La Barbacane opposite the chateau. The mussels there were most likely from french waters. I obtained mine from The Cornish Fishmonmger. They are from the camel river on the north coast of Cornwall. Delicious.
