New in at Fareham Wine Cellar: Precocious by Raimes Rosé 2025, only £20 a bottle.
Raimes are one of our favourite Hampshire producers, better known for their sparkling wines from the chalk near Tichborne. Precocious is something a little different — a dry still rosé made entirely from Pinot Noir Précoce, the early-ripening cousin of Pinot Noir that suits our English climate so well.
Pale, fresh and properly dry (not a sweet picnic rosé). Think bright cherry and red berry, a hint of wildflower, and that lively English acidity that keeps it crisp. Serve well chilled.
Why pick this one up? Local Hampshire wine with a real story behind the name
Easy drinking at 12.5%, but with enough character for food. Lovely with grilled salmon, prawns, goat’s cheese, charcuterie or a late-summer salad.
Pop in and see us at 55 High Street, Fareham, PO16 7BG. We’ll happily talk you through it, or you can order online with UK delivery and no minimum order.
Have you tried an English still rosé yet — or do you still reach for Provence first? Tell us in the comments, or message us if you’d like a pairing idea for Friday night.
