Open 7.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 6.30pm Sunday. We took over the shop on the 1st October 2008.

We had been doing markets first selling tools then doing food for a couple of years prior to taking the shop. I had worked for Richard in the shop on Tuesdays for a few years so when Claire gave up he asked if we were interested and we said yes. Having lived in the village for over 20 years we wanted longer hours for convenience hence the 7 days open for business policy!

Clive is home at last. He will not be working in the shop as he needs time to recuperate but you will see him around.

Clive is doing better and has been moved out of intensive care to a ward. Thank you for your prayers, kind thoughts and cards.

Due to illness the shop will be closing at 6.30pm for the foreseeable future.
Apologies for any inconveniences.

I would be very grateful if customers could refrain from asking lots of questions when visiting the shop. Clive is in a critical situation and Sophie and our lovely staff do not need all the attention about his health. If and when there are changes I will let you all know but in the meantime I am trying to keep the shop open while I am visiting my husband. Thank you for your understanding. Sylvie

Beardon Farm Dexter beef available at the shop. Good quality local meat, lots of different cuts available including fresh burgers.

It is with great sadness that we have to say our lovely darling boy suddenly passed away. There were nothing the vets could do for him unfortunately. We know that the whole village will miss him too as he was the shop cat for such a long time.
Thank you to everyone for your kindness to him over the years.
Thank you Anna and Becky for your help trying to help him this morning.
Goodnight sweet boy, we will miss you 💜
