Battle of the bottlers: The Whisky Baron - Wednesday, 27 August, 6.30pm

Society whisky is all about the adventure. Each of our whiskies is unique and offers a different experience - especially when you're enjoying it close to where its journey began. When shared this photo of Fife Peaty Potion we were reminded just how special that is!

Here's what she had say "This one leapt off the page at me - Fife Peaty Potion. For those who don’t know I’m a proud Fifer and love to champion the Kingdom whenever I can! Not only will it be part of my Fife collection, it’ll be a beautiful addition, I LOVE the artwork on the bottle."

Whisky with burgers = a dream combo for a midweek moment amongst the fray of the Fringe!

📍 Where and when: The Vaults in Leith - every Wednesday from 7pm-9pm
🍔 On the menu: A juicy steak or vegan burger with a flight of three drams
🎟️ Tickets: £35 for members/ £37 for non-members.

Good to know:
If there are six or more people joining on the night, the experience will include a guided tasting led by one of our whisky experts. For smaller groups, you'll still receive a warm introduction to the drams and enjoy the full flight and burger.

A 45-minute tasting experience with three specially selected whiskies hosted at 28 Queen Street. There are two sessions each day making it a welcome lunchtime addition or early evening experience.

£15; Every Tuesday through Sunday from 12.30pm - 1.15pm or 5.30 - 6.15pm.

While we're on the subject of whisky with a map in hand...snacks can be a great way of playing around with flavour and working on your sensory skills. Here's what to do...

1.) Pick your drams
2.) Pick your favourite snacks
3.) Put everything out on the table, pour your drams and see what works. Do certain snacks bring out different tasting notes? Any outstanding pairings? Anything that doesn't work?

This activity is best enjoyed with good company and a notepad for keeping track of your discoveries.

We're interrupting your regular whisky feed to share this very adorable photo from Austrian member Julia, ().

This tiny rescue kitten is named Pippi Longstocking, and this image of her curled up in one of our beanie hats resulted in so many teams' messages that one of our colleagues was convinced that there was a crisis afoot!

While we're all about the adventures this season, sometimes you just need a little break before the next one - we say it's a most fitting way to celebrate International Cat Day! 🐈
