✨️ ONE WHOLE YEAR ✨️
Thanks so much to everyone who came along last night. I worried, like I always do, that no one would show up, but I shouldn't have worried because you all went above and beyond in showing up!!
I feel very loved with my cards, flowers, drawings and all your lovely words of encouragement and praise - proper wee ego boost 😅 Even my lovely reps came along - the best in the biz 🍷
But I couldn't have done it without Süni and Papa Vinho's help covering - you're two good eggs!
Thanks for the past year everyone - let's get into the next one 😎

Everyone say a huge congratulations 🥳 to for getting a Merit in his Wine and Spirits Education Trust exams. WSET 2 combines wine theory & tasting, and is a great achievement!! Next stop, sommelier!? 🍾
And a wee self shout out to me for passing my Sherry Masters course with Honours at the beginning of the year. The Certified Sherry Wine Specialist program from House of Lustau is an in-depth look at the culture, history, and makings of Sherry.🍷

Happy International Women's day!

Despite women leading the major wine trends in the UK, those in the wine industry still face significant prejudice and discrimination, as evidenced by recent studies and reports.

A 2023 study by Curious Vines and Proof Insight surveyed 726 women in the UK wine sector -
78% perceive sexism and gender bias as prevalent issues.
76% believe women are underrepresented in leadership roles, and over one-third have experienced harassment at work.
54% feel that discriminatory pay and conditions persist in the industry.

I've seen a couple of others post this study, but I think it's really important to highlight this!! Change starts from the bottom!

So let's support some women in the wine trade!!

It's been a while since I've done a good ole' tasting which simply celebrates wine for wine itself. So we're heading back to basics this March with "Wine 101," talking you all through classic examples of grapes, a little bit of geeking out about terroir, and just trying some tasty drops with some wine friendly snacks to keep you all going. This is your chance to ask the "stupid" questions you have about wine (none of them are stupid FYI) and get to grips with the basics to leave you more confident in a wine shop!!

🚨 Due to the red weather alert (that scared the absolute be-jeezus out of me through the shop speakers earlier) we're making the difficult decision to close tomorrow. Guidelines suggest to stay at home unless there is an emergency, and as much as we like to convince ourselves otherwise, wine is not an emergency.
