After a lot of thought and reflection, we’ve decided it’s time to bring Crafty Connoisseur to a close. 💔

This isn’t goodbye without gratitude — we want to say a huge thank you to all our suppliers, followers, customers, and friends who’ve supported us through the years. You’ve shared our love for craft spirits, joined our tastings, and helped create memories we’ll always treasure.

Like many small businesses in hospitality, we’ve felt the challenges of the current climate and changing habits, but we’ll forever be proud of what we built and the community that grew around it.

Any tastings already booked will still go ahead as planned, but we’ll no longer be taking new bookings.

What a month it’s been – from the pipes and cabers at Peebles, to the community spirit at Glencorse, to the village buzz of Kirkliston, and plenty of private tastings in between.

We’ve loved every chat, every cheer, and every clink of glasses. As we step into autumn, we just want to say a massive thank you for supporting our wee business and helping us do what we love.

Private tastings and markets are our happy place – and it’s all thanks to you.

Kirkliston Village Sunday Market, 21st Sept

Sundays are for markets – this week you’ll find us at the Kirkliston Village Market from 11am–3pm.

This one’s got a proper village feel: stalls bursting with fresh bakes, jams, local produce and handmade crafts, plus plenty of friendly faces. We’ll be adding a splash of Crafty Connoisseur spirit to the mix, chatting about private tastings and soaking up the atmosphere.

It’s the perfect way to spend a Sunday – good food, local finds, and maybe even a sip and a bottle of something new.

Your Place or Ours? Well… Yours

Our private tastings are designed to fit around you. We don’t need a fancy bar or a big hall – we bring everything straight to your door.

We’ve done gin nights around kitchen tables, whisky tastings in home offices, and rum parties in gardens strung with fairy lights. Every one of them is different, but they all have the same thing in common: people coming together, sharing drinks, and discovering new favourites along the way.

So whether you’re celebrating, team-building, or just fancy something different on a Saturday night, let us bring the Crafty spirit to you.

Glencorse Farmers Market, 13th Sept

We’re bringing the Crafty spirit to the Glencorse Centre Farmers Market on Saturday 13th September. It’s a brilliant community event filled with local food, handmade goodies, and the kind of buzz that makes you proud to shop local.

We’ll be there with our bottles and our stories, chatting about private tastings and maybe pouring a sample or two for curious visitors. It’s the perfect chance to say hello in person, meet other amazing local makers, and maybe treat yourself while you’re at it.

What’s the one thing you always go for at a farmers market – bread, cheese, cake, or something totally different?

Private Tastings, Our Way

You don’t need a fancy venue, a massive space, or a wine-snob vocabulary to enjoy one of our private tastings. All you need is six adults, a table to perch the glasses on, and a sense of fun.

We’ll bring the good stuff – whether that’s gin, rum, whisky, vodka or tequila – along with four full pours, mixers, garnish and some stories that make the spirits come alive. You just bring your pals and an open mind (and maybe a snack or two).

Every tasting feels different because it’s all about your group. Some are relaxed, some are rowdy, and some end with spontaneous dancing. We love them all.

Peebles Highland Games, This Saturday 6th September

Few things are more Scottish than a Highland Games – and Peebles Highland Games is one of our favourites. On Saturday 6th September at Hay Lodge Park you’ll find kilts flying, cabers tossed, pipe bands in full swing and Highland dancers showing us how it’s done.

We’ll be there too, sharing the Crafty spirit, chatting about tastings and soaking in the atmosphere. It’s always a brilliant day out for the whole family, whether you’re there for the tradition, the sport, or the excuse to enjoy a dram in the sunshine.

If you’ve never been, trust us – it’s a proper Scottish day out and you don’t want to miss it.
