Hiya everyone, Amelia here!

As of last week the keys have been handed over, therefore mum and dad are no longer responsible for the General Store and it all seems very real now!

I would just like to thank everyone for the kind messages to mum and dad. As many of you may know the shop has been part of mine and Izzy’s childhood, as much as we tried to get out of stocking shelves, it holds many memories for the both of us!

Thank you to everyone for giving us life advice as you had from my dad, and reminiscing about us both in pushchairs! You all remembered us better than we both remembered you, to be honest we were kids!

That being said me and Izzy now realise we can’t just take food and not pay🤣

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our childhood, me and Izzy have now found our own paths, with Izzy moving away to university doing mechanical engineering, and myself moving back home and finally using my degree working as a wedding coordinator.

We are so proud of everything mum and dad have built and so grateful to have grown up surrounded by such a supportive, kind community. You’ve all been more than customers to us.

Here’s to new beginnings for mum and dad, and for us girls too. The memories will always be ours, and we’ll always be thankful for the part you’ve all played😊

Well, It's all done. We've never seen the shop this empty!!! With 2 months to go until Easter we would now normally be preparing to open. So, a lot of mixed feelings after 36 years. To all of our loyal customers, a last thank you for your support over the years. If it wasn't for you all there would be no shop. We wish whoever takes over all the best. The shop is ready for you to put your mark on it!! Clare & Glyn😊

Wow, it's already the 10th of January, so a belated HAPPY NEW YEAR !!🌟.

We're in the process of packing up the shop and to be honest it's quite an emotional journey. For 36 years it's been our life and the only thing the girls have ever known, especially their summer life.

We have made many friends over the years, some who have become lifelong friends. There have been good and bad times, but mostly good and our customers have supported us throughout.

But, life has to move on and difficult decisions have to be made.
So, within a couple of weeks the shop will no longer be ours.

We wish the new patrons of The General Store the very best of luck and hope you enjoy it as much as we have over the years!!!!

Well it's that time of year again, doesn't time fly by the older we get! We wish you all, our friends and customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy New Year✨

As always, we thank you for your continued support, it is very much appreciated. Self employed isn't always an easy option but for 36 years we have run the business as a couple, and then with help from our daughters. The shop has been their summer life.They have now moved on independently, and as parents we are super proud of both of them. But, decisions have needed to be made and we have decided that 2025 will be our last season. We have discussed this and it's not been an easy choice, we need to move on to pastures new.

We have met some wonderful people over the years, who have become friends and we'll leave this page open until the New Year, so feel free to message us. Nothing lasts forever, and another chapter opens.
