2026 is bringing a load of new challenges for all small businesses. Prices for everything is sky rocketing.
During 2025, we faced loads of challenges, price rises, issues with suppliers which meant we lost a few customers, which can’t be helped and we done everything we could to rectify the issues as soon as we could, some of which were out of our control.
We changed card providers, suppliers, used different wholesalers, thought of new ideas for the business - however, none of it works if locals don’t support us.
Unfortunately some prices are still rising weekly, so we need to remain on top of this, meaning some prices will be rising over the next coming weeks. We tried to keep everything as low as we could, but it’s no longer viable.
This is where we need your help - the shop cannot, & will not survive without more customers coming through the door.
We understand people can’t afford to do their weekly/monthly shop with us, but coming in just for a paper or milk every day isn’t going to keep us going unfortunately.
If we were to talk numbers, we make between 5p & 17p per paper you buy, or 20 & 30p on each milk. It’s not viable for us to keep going if that’s all people are coming in & buying.
We’re struggling to keep up with stock levels because of how little support we’re getting - as you can see by the numbers above, that’s not going to buy us 1 bottle of juice, never mind a whole crate.
The price we had to pay to stock alcohol because of the amount of people moaning we didn’t stock it, yet no-ones buying it.

The old saying goes, if you don’t use us, you lose us. Every penny counts and we appreciate you more than you know.
