There has been lots happening at the distillery recently. One of the most exciting is that the first cask of whisky from our beer to whisky exploration project has now been laid down!

Last year, we welcomed the team from NORTHERN MONK to Loch Lomond Brewery to brew a collaboration imperial stout which we released as the beer Dead Point. The same recipe has now been used as a wash which we distilled into new make, and here it is now in cask!

We can't wait to see how this matures over time.

We’ve had a lot of new followers since we announced our Crowdfunding Campaign and are blown away by the response, so we thought we'd do a little re-introduction for those who don't know us.

Levenbank Distillery is the Lowland’s newest whisky distillery, located in Dumbarton near the banks of the River Leven.

Levenbank was founded by Fiona and Euan MacEachern, the team who are also behind Loch Lomond Brewery . We aim to bring a fresh approach to whisky-making by blending traditional distilling methods with a brewer’s expertise, creating a range of innovative, flavour-forward spirits.

We specialise in exploring how using different malting levels and yeast strains can affect the flavour profile of whisky.

Our experimental ethos includes using specialty malts such as crystal and chocolate malts, traditionally reserved for brewing, to give complex flavours to our whiskies.

We also plan to create a range of innovative single grain whiskies, by adapting recipes from beer styles such as imperial stouts, barley wines, and wee heavies to create exciting washes which we will then distil.

We are now at an exciting stage in our growth where we want to expand even further to meet demand for our products.
