🤩 For our ‘Meet The Volunteer’ feature this month, please meet MARIA! 🤩 We asked Maria a few questions:

🙋 How long have you been volunteering at the shop?
💬 Since covid lockdown. Me and Hennasey did a lot of shifts, making up orders for delivery.

🙋 Do you do a specific shift, if so, why?
💬 Yes, I like my Tuesday morning. I know where I stand every week and can organise the rest of my week around it.

🙋What do you like about volunteering?
💬Meeting new people! I'm Draycott born and bred and have lived here all my life (apart from 4 years when I emigrated to Westbury!). There was a time when I knew everyone in the village when it was smaller, especially as I used to do a milk round here, not so much now. Working in the shop means I get to meet a lot of new people to the village which I enjoy.

🙋What would you do to encourage people to use the shop regularly?
💬 There is a huge variety of everyday goods as well as some luxury treats. It's a great asset to the village (it definitely puts your house price up), and has been a lifeline to lots of people during road closures and covid so I feel it's important that villagers support the shop. As the old saying goes, use it or lose it!

🙋 Would you like to add anything?
I love the morning chat and the happy 'good mornings' with customers. I'm also one of the first to see new products and box office tickets 😀
