June’s Pick 🍇 Tor Del Colle Biferno Riserva - £10.99

Gordon’s pick this month is one of those bottles that for whatever reason doesn’t seem to jump out at you on the shelf, but seriously overdelivers in the glass.

Biferno is a tiny DOC in Southern Italy where bold blends of Montepulciano and Aglianico quietly punch well above their weight. At the perfect age, the 2018 is drinking beautifully right now - smooth, rich, and full of dark cherry, spice and a touch of leather. Classic old-school Italian red vibes.

And with a 4.1 rating on the Vivino App for this particular year, you know it’s not just us who thinks it’s a belter!

We’re only a few weeks away from our first ever Summer Tasting! For those who have been to our annual Christmas Tasting - well it’s quite simply, a Summer Version. Instead of us helping you choose your Christmas Wines, we’ll be showcasing everything we have to offer for your Garden parties & BBQ’s this Summer. It would be great to see some new faces so for those who have not yet attended one of our tastings; they are an informal yet knowledgeable fun afternoon for all wine lovers - there is really something for everyone and a great community event.

Dollar’s had an upgrade ✨

It’s been on the cards for some time, but our Dollar store has finally had its sign repainted — for the first time since we opened our doors in… can you believe it… 2001!

Dollar was our third Ellie’s, after Alva and Auchterarder, and over the years we’ve welcomed so many of you through the door — from familiar faces who feel part of the furniture, to new folk just discovering us for the first time.

We know the high street’s had its challenges lately (we’ve even seen a few new faces popping in while a certain shop has been low on stock 👀), so we just want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone choosing to shop small. It really does mean the world to us and make a huge difference to a family business.

We might’ve had a bit of a glow-up on the outside, but inside it’s still the same friendly wee bottle shop — full of brilliant wines, craft beer, your essential spirits and a friendly, knowledgeable team that genuinely appreciates your business.

Pop in, old or new to say hi, see the fresh paint (and maybe grab a wee something while you’re at it 😉)

We’ve got a HUGE line up of Bin-End wines coming your way this week - I’m almost so excited I wanted to reveal them all at once but they deserve a little one on one attention. 🍷

First up is this HALF PRICE New Zealand Malbec. It’s a fantastic mix of new/old word winemaking - silky smooth and super juicy like you would expect from an Argentinian Malbec but has the class and structure that an old style French would. At only £10.49 (RRP £20.98) you shouldn’t miss this one.

Our famous Christmas Tasting...but make it Summer! Lots of you have requested we repeat our Christmas Tasting in the Summer months, and we finally have.

For the first year ever, we've joined up with Glendevon Hotel Auchterarder , to host an outdoor/indoor (weather dependent) tasting experience.

We'll be pouring over 30 of our favourite Summer Wines - from our top value bottles, to a few more special picks that are perfect for sharing (or not!). As always, we'll be there alongside our fab team to guide you through the line-up in our usual fun and relaxed style.
