🚨 HOOKERS IN THE HOUSE TONIGHT 🚨

Honestly, Facebook really doesn’t make it easy to write these posts without sounding deeply suspicious.

But yes…

The Pour House Hookers are back tonight 🧶🍻

Our wonderfully wholesome knitting & crochet group will be gathering from 6.30pm with yarn, hooks, needles, gossip, half-finished projects and the occasional accidental counting error.

If you already knit or crochet, come along.

If you’ve always fancied learning, come along.

If you just want to sit in the sunshine with a drink while surrounded by very friendly people making things at alarming speed… also absolutely acceptable.

The sun is out, the sky is blue,
The runners meet at half past two…

No wait. That’s wrong. Ignore that bit.
The heat has clearly fried my wit.

🏃‍♀️ The runners meet from 6 tonight,
Then head off out while it is light.
They’ll jog and chat and puff and sweat,
While others guard the beer instead.

The garden waits in evening sun,
Cold pints prepared for post-run fun.
The cellar too is cool and dim,
For those whose chances of a run are slim.

BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY.

Or as we’re now calling it…

🎉 Saturday Part 3 🎉

Absolutely nobody should be working today.

So if you’ve accidentally gone to work, we’d like you to:

1. stop immediately
2. come home
3. and make better choices

Because The Pour House is open 🍻☀️

The beer garden is ready.
The cellar is cool.
The beer is cold.
And from around 3pm-ish…

🔥 Josh is firing up the grills 🔥

Expect:
🍔 burgers
🌭 hot dogs
🍺 very good drinks
☀️ excellent bank holiday energy

It’s basically the final lap of the long weekend, and honestly, there are worse ways to spend it than sitting in Devizes’ smallest beer garden with a drink in hand and barbecue smells floating through the air.

We’re open from 2pm until 8pm.

No Sunday scaries allowed today.
That’s tomorrow’s problem.

The sun is shining ☀️

The beer is cold 🍺

And loads of you have already been enjoying Devizes’ smallest ‘little beer garden’, which we are disproportionately excited about.

It turns out:

* a few benches
* a quiet courtyard
* good people
* and very good beer

…is actually a pretty solid formula for happiness.

So if you fancy stretching the weekend out just a little bit longer, come and join us.

❄️ Downstairs in the cellar if you want to cool off

🍻 Good drinks everywhere

🐶 Treats for the pups & water bowls (although we won’t be offering these tested ice lollies as they’re still defrosting)

We’re open from 2pm until 8pm because, frankly, stopping a bank holiday weekend early feels unnecessary.

Well…

Here it is.

Devizes’ smallest (but possibly most perfectly formed) beer garden ☀️🍻

Ever since I opened The Pour House, I’ve wanted us to have a little bit of outside space somewhere people could sit with friends, enjoy a proper drink, and make the most of days exactly like this.

And now… we finally do.

We (officially) opened it last night and honestly, seeing people sat out there with a pint in hand made me ridiculously happy.

It’s not huge.
But then neither is the bar.

And that’s kind of the point really.

We’ve never tried to be the biggest. We’ve just tried to create somewhere warm, welcoming and full of good things to drink.

This little courtyard is exactly the same.

A quiet pint in the sunshine.
A catch up with mates.
Dogs stretched out under the benches.
Cold beer. Warm weather. No rush.

Perfect.

There’s still more to come and we’ll keep adding bits of love to it over the next few weeks, but it’s officially here and ready for you to enjoy.

And honestly, the timing could not have worked out better. The weather has absolutely understood the assignment ☀️

So if you’re wondering how to spend the start of a bank holiday weekend…

You’ve just found your answer.

FRIDAY. ☀️🍻

And what a Friday it is.

The sun is shining.

The long bank holiday weekend starts now.

We’re open all the way through, including Monday.

AND…

🚨 The Pour House finally has outside seating 🚨

After working with the local authority to update our licence, we can finally say:

🍺 Great beer
☀️ Sunshine
🪑 Outside seating
…all at The Pour House.

It’s still a work in progress and we’ll keep evolving the space as we go, but we are ridiculously excited to finally be able to offer somewhere to sit outside with a proper drink in hand.

And because we like options…

If the sunshine gets a bit too enthusiastic, you can always retreat downstairs into the cool cellar bar and hide from the heat with a pint instead ❄️🍺

You know that moment when you shut the laptop, leave work, or finally decide you’ve done enough for one week?

This is the post-work pint version of that feeling.

No grand plans required.

No “big night out” pressure.

Just somewhere warm, friendly, and stocked with very good things to drink.

Some people will stay for one.

Some people will accidentally spend the whole evening here discussing absolutely everything from holidays to politics to whether crisps count as dinner - which they do, by the way

Both are valid.

Technically it’s not the bank holiday weekend yet.

But honestly… who’s checking?

So we’re making an executive decision to start the weekend early with Quiz Night tonight 🧠🍻

And unusually… we’ve actually still got a few tables left.

So if your evening plans currently involve staring into the fridge wondering what to eat, this is your sign to do something far more entertaining instead.

👥 Teams of 4–6
💷 £2 per person
🏆 Entire entry pot paid back out in prizes to the top 3 teams

Which means:
More teams = bigger prize pot = higher stakes arguments over whether Kevin Costner was in that film or not.

Quiz kicks off at 7pm.
Bar open from 4pm.

Expect:
🍺 good beer
🧠 questionable memory recall
😂 unnecessary competitiveness
🙄 at least one answer that will annoy everyone when they hear it

Meanwhile, the Pour House Runners are off on a field trip tonight, which means the bar will actually be… quiet.

🚨 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

This is not Sarah.

I, Lian, have temporarily stolen the boss’s phone because apparently it is her birthday today and there was absolutely no chance she was going to post about it herself.

So, on behalf of all of us…

🎉 Happy Birthday Sarah 🎉

For those who know her, you’ll know she’s usually:
🍺 behind the bar
📋 organising seventeen things at once
🧠 coming up with ideas at concerning speed
👋 talking to absolutely everybody
and somehow still keeping The Pour House running with a smile on her face.

Today, however, she is under strict instructions to:
❌ stop working for five minutes
✅ have a drink
✅ let other people look after her for a change
✅ accept birthday wishes whether she likes it or not
