From 6pm, we're getting stuck into something a little different from Bristol B**r Factory. Their experimental Off Menu b**rs are definitely worth investigating.

SO, WHAT DID YOU DO WITH YOUR EXTRA HOUR? ⏰

An extra hour in bed?

An extra hour walking the dog?

An extra hour scrolling through Facebook looking at things you don't need?

Or did you spend it trying to work out why the oven says 10.15, the car says 11.15 and the dog still thinks it's breakfast time?

Whatever you did with it, we hope it was worth the seven-month wait.

And now you've got a whole Sunday ahead of you.

A nice walk, a bit of fresh air, perhaps a roast, or a leisurely pint and a catch-up with friends.

Bring the dog.

Bring a friend.

Or just bring yourself.

There's always a welcome waiting.

GOOD NEWS. WE'RE GETTING OUR STOLEN HOUR BACK. ⏰

Remember that hour they took from us in March?

Well, tonight they're finally giving it back.

Which means tomorrow morning:

⏰ The clock in the car might actually be right again.

⏰ You'll spend 20 minutes trying to remember how to change the oven clock.

⏰ You'll discover at least three clocks you didn't know you owned.

⏰ You'll need to find a small child to help you change the time on anything digital.

⏰ And you'll eventually give up and decide to worry about it in six months.

Actually, come to think of it, perhaps that's why they give us an extra hour.

So we've got time to change all the b****y clocks.

Anyway, we're open 12–9pm today.

And the clocks behind the bar are probably wrong already.

25 POPPIES. 25 LITTLE ACTS OF KINDNESS. ❤️

Our lovely Pour House Ho**ers have been busy!

With Remembrance Sunday approaching, they’ve crocheted 25 beautiful red poppies to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

And they’re rather lovely, aren’t they?

They’re now available at The Pour House for anyone who’d like one to wear, or perhaps to give to someone else.

There’s no fixed price. All we ask is that you pop a donation into the Royal British Legion collection pot.

Every penny donated goes towards supporting the work of the RBL.

A huge thank you to our Ho**ers for giving up their time, yarn and considerable hooking talents to make these.

We’re open today from 12–9pm, so pop in, pick up a poppy, make a donation and, if you fancy it, stay for a drink 😉

There are only 25, so once they’re gone, they’re gone!

And if you see one of our Ho**ers, please do tell them what a lovely job they’ve done. ❤️

A POPPY, A PINT AND A FEW HAPPY HOOKERS! 🧶

With Remembrance Sunday approaching, our lovely Pour House Ho**ers are turning their attention to poppies tonight.

And they’d love you to join them.

If you’ve ever fancied having a go at crochet, this is a rather lovely place to start. Come along and learn how to make your very own crocheted poppy, either to wear yourself or to give to someone special.

And the best bit? It’s completely FREE!

We’ve got the hooks, the yarn and everything else you’ll need. Our Ho**ers will show you what to do, help you get started and, if you don’t finish tonight, you can take your kit home (yes, it’s yours to keep!) and finish your poppy in time for Remembrance Sunday.

No experience needed. No equipment needed. No lessons to pay for.

Just turn up.

Of course, if you’re already a seasoned Ho**er, bring your latest project along. Poppies aren’t compulsory!

And if you have absolutely no desire to get involved with wool, hooks or anything remotely crafty, don’t worry. The bar’s open as normal, and you can sit and enjoy a drink without anyone making you crochet anything.

No trophy coming back to Devizes, but a very good day in Manchester 🍻

Huge congratulations to Gill Sherwin from Best of British B**r, who won Entrepreneur of the Year at the Women in B**r Awards. A very worthy winner, as were all the category winners and finalists - there were some pretty impressive people there.

I met b**r writer Laura Hadland and people from Attic, Pretty Decent and Buxton breweries, and was adopted by the Manchester Crafty B**r Girls. Lovely company for the evening.

Managed a little research too: Northern Monk Refectory, Fell, Port Street B**r House, Cloudwater for the awards, then finished the night at Track’s taproom.

Not a bad day’s work.

Quite thorough, I thought.

Being one of four national finalists before The Pour House has even reached its second birthday is something I’m pretty proud of.

Thank you to our team and everyone who’s helped make it what it is. Thank you too all of you too for the support & lovely comments yesterday.

Heading home with new friends, a few ideas and some b**r conversations to follow up. Watch this space…

MONDAY. AND WE’RE OPEN. AGAIN. 🍺

We know. We’re getting a bit carried away with this opening on Mondays business.

But there’s a very good reason.

The lovely chaps from Talk Club are joining us tonight. ❤️

Talk Club is all about positive mental health and mental fitness for men.

A chance to get together, have a chat, share what’s going on and look after that thing between your ears that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves.

You don’t have to be struggling to come along, either.

Sometimes it’s just good to talk.

Especially when the usual answer to “How are you?” is “Yeah, fine, thanks.”

Even when you’re not.

Talk Club meets from 6pm, and new faces are always welcome.

We’ll be opening the doors at around 5.30pm.

And seeing as we’re open anyway, we thought we might as well stay open until about 8pm.

So if you’re not coming for Talk Club but just fancy a quiet Monday drink to ease yourself into the week, that’s absolutely fine too.

WELL, WE HAD OUR OWN FESTIVAL OF DISCOVERY YESTERDAY. 🍺

If you were with us on Friday, you’ll know the b**r was getting a little overexcited about the weekend.

A bit more enthusiastic than we’d have liked.

Turns out, when the engineer arrived yesterday, we’d blown a coil in the b**r cooler.

Who knew?

Well, the engineer did, thankfully.

Anyway, he’s been, he’s fixed it, the b**r has calmed itself down and we’re all ready for a nice, chilled Sunday.

Which is just as well, because it’s DAY TWO OF DOCA Devizes FESTIVAL OF DISCOVERY! ❤️

If you missed yesterday, you’ve still got today to get out and discover all the brilliant things happening around Devizes.

The DOCA team have done an amazing job putting this together, so please get out there and support them.

And while you’re at it, come and see us.

Have your Sunday roast first.

Obviously not with us.

We don’t do roasts.

We do, however, have lots of lovely things to drink, a few things to nibble on and somewhere comfy to sit while you recover from all that discovering.

WELL, WE SURVIVED FRIDAY. AND NOW IT’S TIME TO DISCOVER SOMETHING! 🎉

Against all the odds, The Pour House is still standing.

The boss managed an entire Friday behind the bar without blowing anything up.

Nobody was injured.

The b**r kept flowing.

Frankly, we’re calling that a success.

ANYWAY. BIG THINGS HAPPENING IN DEVIZES THIS WEEKEND!

The amazing people at DOCA have done it again. ❤️

They’ve brought another fantastic event to our little town, and this time it’s the Festival of Discovery.

Not one festival.

Not two festivals.

THREE FESTIVALS IN ONE!

Which seems a bit excessive, but we’re certainly not complaining.

It’s happening today and tomorrow, and there’s loads to see, do and discover.

DOCA do such a brilliant job of bringing people together and making Devizes a more interesting, colourful and slightly bonkers place to live.

So please, get out there and support them.

Who knows what you’ll discover?

Well, you won’t know if you stay at home, will you?

And while you’re out discovering things, why not come and discover us?

Whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth, you’re always welcome.

We’ve got lots of lovely things to drink, things to nibble on, comfy places to sit and, importantly, guilt-free loos.

Yes, really.

If you’re wandering around town and get caught short, just pop in.

You don’t have to buy anything.

You don’t have to make awkward eye contact with the person behind the bar and pretend you’re considering a pint.

Just come in.

We’re not monsters.

Although we’ll be storing some rather interesting willow creatures and sculptures under the stairs for the festival later on.

And we’re slightly concerned about what they might get up to when we lock up tonight.

If anything starts moving around down there, we’re sending the boss in first.
