So why did we close today? What happened? Why would you close your store without informing us . . .

Let me tell you why . . .

Below is what remains of a window display we have had in our business for over 5 years to summarise a customer policy that has been in effect ever since we opened.

Over the years we have had the same dispute with parents and children about our policy, but whether you agree with it or not; it is a fair use policy of our business premises . . .

Firstly, our premises is a place of business, is private property and not a public space where customers dictate to us, or argue with us how we exercise our authority about how customers use our services and trade.

Secondly, this customer policy about allowing 2 unsupervised children into our premises at any one given time has been exercised in equal measure to all, with no discrimination based upon who you are.

Thirdly, as a family business with children of our own; we do not appreciate any fellow parents talking down to any of us, providing me or any members of my team a lecture of how to treat children.

Today I was fuming at having to deal with yet another frustrared customer that thinks they are special and above our customer policy.

We are happy to work so hard as a family and team to keep our community going, something I am very proud to be a part of, being a long time resident since 1989.

So yes, I closed the shop, because enough is enough. We as a family are sick and tired of having had to tolerate such behaviour from parents and children alike who show no respect or appreciation for what we do.

I work damn hard to do what I do for the community in my role, but as an individual that has some self-respect, I will no longer tolerate any form of abuse to myself or my staff.

I will never forget the long hours and time that my family put into our local business to keep the community going during lockdown, and if some of you want to take your business elsewhere because you wish me to tolerate bad behaviour and disrespect from some of your children who won't listen to an adult . . . then I thank you for your custom . . . but in good conscious . . . I will no longer continue to manage this buisness like this.

I apologise to all my regulars and the rest of the community with the inconvenience caused . . . but I stand by my right to work in a safe and hostile free environment.

Below is what remains of our damaged window poster . . .

We will always endeavour to source the products you ask for to the best of our ability.

So for example, some of you have been asking us to restock Henry Westons Cider, of which I have brought in 3 varieties.

As we go into Year 25 of serving the Local Community, we thank you for your continued support and trust in us, for making us your Local Shop of Choice.

FYI of our customers and others interested.

Disposable V**es which are most 600 puff devices that we mostly retail for £5.50 will be banned and made illegal to sell from April 2025. My personal view is that as most manufacturers are heavily investing in R+D into future V**e Kits and Mods, that will last longer and also be more viable financially and environmentally, I think all disposable flavours currently available in shops will soon phase out by Jan 2025 as suppliers manage their current stock levels.

As such, from June till September, I will be launching promotions on these new products as they lauch for you to pick and choose what Products best suit your needs.

Our current promotions on all Disposables as such will be ending by month end, so if you use us as one of your preferred outlets, please come speak to me, as the more feedback I receive, the more suited I can market products that meet your demands.
