Our version of Kimba and the five cygnets look quite at home next to the brook don’t they, it took a lot of persuasion to get them to come back into the shop after their photoshoot! 🤭

Come to Dawlish & Dawlish Warren for a well priced, enjoyable pint in a great pub atmosphere! 🍻

Right then. I've put together this completely unscientific infographic based entirely on my own meandering experience of drinking my way around Devon with one eye on the pint prices and the other on whether I’m about to get charged a fiver for warm p**s in a plastic glass.

Is it accurate? Probably not.
Is it based on receipts, spreadsheets and pint-to-pound ratios? Absolutely not.
Is it an excuse to shout about some brilliant pubs where you won’t need to remortgage the dog for a round? You bet your arse it is.

It’s not all Wetherspoons either, there are actual pubs in here. Ones with carpet. Ones with regulars. Ones that smell faintly of pickled onions and history.

So here’s the challenge:
If you reckon I’ve missed a cheaper pint, or you think this list is full of s**t, call me out. Tag the pub, tell me the price, or better yet, show us the pump clip and the till receipt 😂

Let’s crowdsource the true cost of a proper pint in Devon.

Teignmouth and Exeter clearly leading the charge for wallet-friendly boozing, but there's always room for a surprise entry...

Our lovely Dawlish Rockwaves Choir are putting on a special performance at Holcombe Village Hall in aid of the Friends of Dawlish Hospital from 7pm - 9pm.

Waddle into the weekend with the Black Swans here in Dawlish as there’s lots going on!

🚗 Cofton Holidays American Car Show - parade through Dawlish Town Centre at around 10AM on Saturday.

🚂 Steam Train ‘Torbay Express’ passing through Dawlish at approx 12:09 & 17:53 on Saturday (rail traffic dependent).

🎸 Dark River Music Festival - on Saturday in venues all around the town.

🏖️ The weather forecast looks great, so grab your beach towels and enjoy a day on the sand.

⛲️ The Water Fountain has been fixed, so pop down to Tucks Plot / York Gardens to enjoy.

🦢 Say hello to our lovely swans, geese and ducks - can you spot any new hatchlings on The Brook?

🏛️ Dawlish Museum is open on Saturday Morning

We hope all the Dads had a wonderful Father’s Day yesterday!

🛍️ The Strand, Dawlish 🛍️

Did you know that around 1780 The Strand in Dawlish was called Pleasant Row?

It’s not hard to see why, with a lovely mix of beautiful buildings lining the street, overlooking The Lawn and The Brook.

Today those historic buildings are mostly made up of independent shops, tea rooms and bakeries, run by local families, which makes a trip to Dawlish town centre so very unique.

When was the last time you had a good look at the pretty buildings on The Strand?
