Bordeaux En Primeur 2025 | Haut-Bailly & Mouton Rothschild Releases 🍷

The latest releases in our Bordeaux 2025 En Primeur campaign feature two of the vintage's most compelling wines: Château Haut-Bailly and Château Mouton Rothschild, alongside their highly acclaimed second wines, Haut-Bailly II and Le Petit Mouton.

Our Primeurs week began in Pessac-Léognan at Château Haut-Bailly, where significant investment in both vineyard and winery has helped the estate craft a wine of remarkable poise and precision. The Grand Vin was among the finest wines we tasted all week, seamlessly combining classical structure with the finesse and purity that define the château today. Jeb Dunnuck awarded the wine 97-99 points, describing it as "a sensational Haut-Bailly all about finesse and elegance" and concluding simply: "You should buy this." Haut-Bailly II also impressed enormously, proving a particular favourite of the JN team and earning up to 96 points from James Suckling.

In Pauillac, Château Mouton Rothschild delivered a quintessential expression of the estate's grand style. Concentrated and unmistakably Pauillac in character, yet finely judged and beautifully balanced, it was one of the strongest performances from the Left Bank. Jane Anson awarded the wine 98-100 points, calling it "a beautiful Mouton", while James Suckling scored it 99-100 points. Le Petit Mouton was equally impressive, with Jeb Dunnuck describing it as "one hell of a second wine" and among the leading examples of the category in 2025.

🌍 Globetrotters Wine Tasting Series - Stop #2 🍷

Our journey around the world of wine continues...

✈️ Next Stop: Southern Hemisphere
📅 Saturday 6th June 2026
⏰ 2:30 - 4:00pm
📍 The JN Tasting Room, Crossgar
💷 £15 per person

Travel the world through wine – no passport required!

For the second stop in our Globetrotters series, we head south of the equator to explore the wines of the Southern Hemisphere, focusing on three countries that have really carved out their own identity over the last few decades.

This seated tasting will feature around six wines from our portfolio, covering Australia, New Zealand and South Africa: regions now well beyond any "New World" shorthand, with proper site expression, regional character and a clear sense of style across the board.

We'll taste our way through everything from the cool-climate, precise whites of New Zealand, to the broader but increasingly refined styles of Australia, and the distinctive freshness, structure and old-vine character that define much of modern South African wine.

Chile & Argentina will be explored separately in our Americas tasting.

As always, this will be a relaxed, informal seated tasting led by our team – focused on discovery, building confidence, and helping you get a better feel for what you enjoy.

⚠️ Only 4 tickets remain – booking is strongly advised.

Bordeaux En Primeur 2025 | Palmer, Alter Ego, Lascombes, Branaire-Ducru & Talbot Releases 🍷

The latest releases in our Bordeaux 2025 En Primeur campaign feature highly anticipated wines from Château Palmer, Alter Ego de Palmer, Château Lascombes, Château Branaire-Ducru, and Château Talbot.

Tasted during our Primeurs visits across the Médoc this April, these wines stood among some of the most compelling and complete we encountered, combining vitality, precision and unwavering balance throughout.

Château Palmer was one of the standout wines of the vintage for our team, showing extraordinary harmony and terroir signature despite the warmth of the year. William Kelley of Robert Parker Wine Advocate awarded the wine 97–99 points, calling it “one of the most refined and seamless wines of the vintage”. Alter Ego de Palmer also impressed enormously, offering all the polish and sophistication of the Palmer style in a more approachable and expressive frame, with Antonio Galloni of Vinous describing it as “a wine of total pleasure and seduction”.

Elsewhere in Margaux, Château Lascombes continues its remarkable evolution under Axel Heinz. Antonio Galloni called the 2025 “truly impressive” and “Axel Heinz’s best Lascombes yet”, praising its seamless texture, mineral precision and sculpted finish.

In Saint-Julien, both Château Branaire-Ducru and Château Talbot once again outperformed their classifications with classically styled wines of purity and enduring appeal. Branaire-Ducru particularly impressed for its refinement and freshness, while Neal Martin of Vinous described Talbot as “a classic Saint-Julien” with satisfying depth and value.

Bordeaux En Primeur 2025 | Lynch-Bages Releases 🍷

We are delighted to continue our Bordeaux 2025 En Primeur campaign with the latest releases from the celebrated Cazes family stable: Château Lynch-Bages, Echo de Lynch-Bages, and Blanc de Lynch-Bages 2025.

One of Bordeaux’s historic Irish 'Wine Geese' estates, Château Lynch-Bages traces its roots to the Lynch family of Galway, who settled in Bordeaux in the 17th century. Since its acquisition by the Cazes family in 1939, the estate has become one of Pauillac’s most recognisable names, today under the direction of Jean-Charles Cazes.

Tasted during our Primeurs visits this April, the wines once again showed the signature style that has made Lynch-Bages one of the Médoc’s most consistent overperformers: broad-shouldered yet scrupulous and fresh, unmistakably Pauillac.

Château Lynch-Bages 2025 was one of the standout wines from Pauillac for our team this year, combining layers of cassis, cigar box, crushed stone and cedar with exceptional purity and finely detailed tannins. Neal Martin described the finish as a “peacock’s tail” that clings to the palate, awarding the wine 96–98 points, while James Suckling scored it 97–98 points.

Echo de Lynch-Bages 2025 was equally impressive, delivering a remarkably clear through line of the grand vin style. Jane Anson awarded the wine 94 points, calling it “one to look out for”, while Georgie Hindle of Decanter also scored it 94 points.

Blanc de Lynch-Bages 2025 once again confirmed itself as one of the Médoc’s leading dry whites, combining aromatic intensity with energetic mineral drive. James Suckling and Jane Anson both awarded the wine 95 points, while Antonio Galloni praised its “beguiling mix of textural richness and aromatic intensity”.

Bordeaux En Primeur 2025 | Lafite, Duhart-Milon, Clerc Milon, d’Armailhac & Gruaud-Larose Releases 🍷

The latest releases in our Bordeaux 2025 En Primeur campaign feature highly anticipated wines from the celebrated portfolios of Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) and Baron Philippe de Rothschild, alongside the special 300th Anniversary Edition release of Château Gruaud-Larose.

Tasted during our Primeurs visits across the Médoc this April, these wines stood among the most compelling and complete we encountered all week, combining freshness, precision and classical balance throughout.

The Lafite stable particularly impressed in 2025. Château Lafite Rothschild was one of the standout wines of the vintage for many of our team, showing extraordinary delicacy, florality and energy, earning 98–100 points from Neal Martin of Vinous, and 99–100 points from James Suckling. Alongside it, Carruades de Lafite delivered its trademark elegance and refinement, while Château Duhart-Milon showed beautifully as a poised and classical Pauillac.

The Mouton stable also performed superbly this year, tasted in the stunning surrounds of Château d’Armailhac. Both Château Clerc Milon and Château d’Armailhac impressed with their purity, balance and freshness, with Georgina Hindle of Decanter awarding d’Armailhac 96 points and praising its “lovely muscular edge without the heft”.

Finally, we are delighted to offer the special 300th Anniversary bottling of Château Gruaud-Larose - a distinguished Second Growth from Saint-Julien that combines the richness of the vintage with exceptional elegance and value. Jeb Dunnuck awarded the wine 97–99 points, calling it “a heavenly Saint-Julien”.

Bordeaux En Primeur 2025 | Château Léoville Barton & Château Langoa Barton Releases 🍷

The latest releases from Château Léoville Barton and Château Langoa Barton continue our Bordeaux 2025 En Primeur campaign with two of the benchmark wines of Saint-Julien.
Among the great Irish ‘Wine Geese’ families of Bordeaux, the Bartons have been established in the region since 1725, acquiring Château Langoa Barton in 1821 and Château Léoville Barton in 1826. Today, under Lilian Barton-Sartorius and her family, the estates remain among the longest continuously family-owned classified growths in Bordeaux.

The Barton wines have long represented the archetype of classical Saint-Julien claret: structured, refined and built for long ageing, while consistently offering some of the appellation’s strongest value relative to their pedigree.

The 2025 vintage appears particularly successful at both estates. Léoville Barton impressed us greatly during our tastings last month, showing deep cassis fruit, graphite, cedar and broad-shouldered tannins balanced by striking freshness and precision. A powerful yet beautifully composed wine, it has earned exceptional praise from critics, including 97–99 points from Jeb Dunnuck, 97 points from Jane Anson, and 97 points from Decanter.

Langoa Barton also performed superbly in 2025, offering a slightly more approachable expression of the Barton house style, though with no shortage of concentration or ageing potential. With layers of dark currant fruit, to***co, violet and polished tannins, it stands among the strongest recent vintages from the estate.
